I am aware of this and I do apologize for being flagrant in my last post. I just can't understand why people freely decide to live in cities when it's been shown time and time again that there is a sweet spot between population size and available incomes. It also has much to do with career choices as well and what not. As for those that are born into the cities or moved there as children, I do understand and am sympathetic with the overwhelming challenges that poses to them. Specifically, my beef is with the types that claim that they simply MUST live in a city because rural/suburban living is crap, then all they do is get a regular 9-5, order take out all the time, and complain about costs.
Dude I don't even live in the city. Houses and apartments within like an hour and a half of my city are all terribly priced. It's insane. But yeah, I'm not trying to move 2 hours outside of the city just to get a place because my commute would be insane

I don't even know what you're saying. #1 people are gonna live where the jobs are. #2 I live in a fairly rural state if you live in town it's expensive but if you live out of down you lose power on a regular basis and it takes them a week to get it back up.

Maybe you live in that magical place where you can find affordable housing that isn't in the ghetto and doesn't lack basic amenities that doesn't have a massive commute. But your expectations for people just don't always line up.

Obviously I'm not going to ask nor tell myself about living locations, but I will say I am sorry that that is the situation you're in. I don't fare well with these kinds of topics usually, so I'll see my way out and wish all of you the best moving forward.

You can have the courage to quote me specifically, I know you can. It's almost as if you also didn't read my posts at all where I said that I understand and have sympathy for those born into those situations and that I was addressing people who freely choose to move to a location above their financial means. Anyway, forgot to untrack this topic, so I'm doing that now.

Not to mention the fact that places like the city I live in used to be one of the most affordable and after a decade we have the highest rate of inflation in the US.

How do you plan for that? Lol like a low wage earner is supposed to have time and care to worry about these trends when they work all day just to scrape by? Give me a break.

It amazes me that people actually think that way unironically. Absolute clown world.
