The Empty Man.
Thought provocing horror/thriller.
Loved it, gave off lots of Silent Hill vibes.

The name and basic promotional material suggest it's a childhood trauma/all in your head type horror movie building into an eldritch horror or cosmic horror thing, possibly under a corporate or small town twist. Idk. I'm intrigued now

I have a bizarre vision now. This discussion conjured a strange scene, thinking of some of that stuff. I may have to follow through on watching this, just to see

I like what seems to be a focus on practical effects, finding things that aren't fake to be disturbing, and what seems to be a suggestion that what's truly scary is fear of things which aren't real/never happen, but to build the atmosphere around those things nonetheless. Interested in whether there's a predictable character twist, if a supporting character or the lead character ends up being the killer

With movies like this, you never know. It could turn out to be his long lost twin brother or something lol

I see that and you have peaked my curiosity on that note

Seems to embrace itself with slasher tropes nonetheless, would maybe compare to Scream and The Ring in terms of handling beats, just based on what I've seen. Thanks!

Oh that was very good. How it is broken up into segments or chapters and all is really great.

I will also recommend this. Definitely not a waste of time. Very scary

Good to hear! I like movies that make you think and are above the ordinary cliche.

Same...but I don't like scary movies :/

Thrillers I am fine with, but once they lean into the horror genre I'm out. Which is sad because I know I am missing out on some solid movies.

After processing the movie, I think what TC said is right. It's very, very Silent Hill.
