We've done Star Wars, Star Trek, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, and visual designs. I was going to do Resident Evil because it's October, but then I remembered it has DLC and a remake coming out. So, I decided to Pokemon, but then I remembered it has a new game coming out (and I still haven't played Legends). Then I decided to do Lord of the Rings, Legend of Zelda, Mario...

So, I'll be ranking flags with tier lists and writeups, or anything related to flags. Why flags? Because I like these topics, and I've basically just run out of ideas. I have no idea how long this topic will go for, so we'll see how successful it is.

Anything flag or flag-related is kosher here, so get going.

Booleans: Makes my computer work, which means I get to play video games. 10/10 for that alone.
American Flag: One of the world's best flags. Extremely distinctive even from a distance, unlike the myriad of tricolors out there, and its bright colors make it easy to read. I think it was China or Japan that once called America something like the "Flower Country" because of colorful the flag is? I'd rank this as the second best country flag currently in use.

Maryland Flag Obsession: I see people calling this an offensively terrible flag. What? I kind of like it. It's ugly in a medieval banner sort of way. I refuse to look up what any of the symbols mean. You go, Maryland.
Shy Guy Says: A perfectly fine minigamee. It's at least not one of the ones that are completely luck-reliant. I like how the shy guy keeps raising flags even as the characters drift away, not waiting for them to be gone.

Semaphore: This is way too many flag signals. I bet this is really important if you're a 19th century sailor. Alas, I am not.
California Flag: It's not good, but it's still in the top ten state flags. Most state flags are just blue with a symbol in the center, and California, to its credit, does not have that. The bear is apparently modeled on the last California grizzly bear in captivity, which is now extinct? Wow, what a backstory.
Nepal: Their flag's symbolism is uninteresting, and so is the coloration. The only reason people remember this flag is the shape. But instead, I'd like to recommend you check out the Wikipedia article's description of the flag's aspect ratio.

Ugly Flags
South Park Flag: You didn't specify, so I'm assuming you mean the 'new' version. Man, this sure presaged the Confederate flag debate, huh? Anyway, this is a bad flag. It's bright yellow, and the stick figures are hard to read at a distance.
Flag-Smasher: The idea of an antinationalist supervillain is good, but he's not a terribly compelling character in his own right. Black and white, huh? A better costume would just be monocolored clothing, since that lacks a symbol to latch onto.
Kingdom of the Two Sicilies: I get zero implication from this flag that it represents 'two' of anything. An all-white background with a fancy, undrawable symbol in the center is ass.
Deez Nuts Flag: I'm not a fan.

Very Ugly Flags
Improperly Flagging a Post: Jerk move.
Randall Flagg: Instead of talking about this character, let's talk about the 2017 Dark Tower adaptation. This character shows up, and the little boy is like "hey Idris Elba, what is his name?", and Elba is like "... Walter." Which is a fine joke if you go back to calling him "the Man in Black" afterward, but instead, the movie just keeps calling him Walter, which ruins any attempt at seriousness. Anyway, I've never read any of the books he's in, I've only seen that movie where he sucks.
Hideous Joke Japan Flag: I... what?

The hideous joke flag was from some reddit thing, the climax of a saga that started with replacing the dragon on the Wales flag with a stegosauros

Coat of Arms of Lithuania: It's so blunt and direct, I love it. It's like a kid drew the design for this. I love how the horse looks angry at the knight.

Bhutanese Dragon: It's goofy and wonderful, but I want to talk about Bhutan. Did you know they just have a cultural thing about drawing penises on buildings? Look it up on google, you'll find a ton of photos of it.
Death Flags: Necessary, but occasionally ruin a story when you realize a character just cannot possibly survive with the way things are progressing. It does give some satisfaction when you're like "yeah, saw that one coming," though.

Blue Lives Matter Flag: Let's not even go into the politics, I'm just going to say that the flag itself is a straight downgrade from the American flag in every way. Having that one extra stripe that's discolored makes everything else look worse.
Black Flag: I listened to some of their music, and I'm not impressed. Punk music is just people screaming while sort of playing a guitar.

Kimono Project: I love the idea of this, even though it's extremely difficult to tell which kimono belongs to which country. Still, this is like a 10/10 concept and execution: every country's recognizable culture and symbolism filtered through a Japanese lens is great. I really love how lazy they were with Bahrain and Mali, too. To be clear, a lot of these are kind of not great quality, but the idea is so strong that I'll give it full points anyway.

Flag (Programming): Like with booleans, these are what let my video games video game at me. I remember being like 14 and learning about flags via Neverwinter Nights and Warcraft III's map maker modes. Man, that was forever ago.
American Flag
Polandball: I know it's popular in certain unsavory parts of the internet, but a lot of them are genuinely funny.
Capture the Flag (Game Mode): How many hours have I wasted playing these instead of doing something even slightly productive?

Flags (Randomizer Settings): Now that it's been explained to me, I'll place it here.
Taira Clan Emblem: I looked this up, assuming it was from a video game I'd never heard of, because the design was way too complicated. Joke's on me! Of the four clans Wikipedia lists as the most important of the Heian period, this and Minamoto are clearly the top contenders for the best emblem.

Flag (Minesweeper): I'm actually not very good at Minesweeper, but the flags are quality.
Waving a White Flag Symbolism: I mean, yes. There needs to be an internationally-accepted symbol for "I surrender," and this is a good option for it.

White Flag (Dido): I listened to it again for this topic; this isn't exactly my type of music, but I could listen to it a bit. I like it well enough!
2Fort: I played this map so much, you wouldn't believe it. It's not very good, and it's way too chaotic, but it holds so many good memories. There were many games where I won the game by myself, because I was the only person who cared about winning, and everyone else just kept massacring each other. My second-greatest moment of TF2 happened here. I was a scout with the briefcase going up that one staircase. I knew a pyro was chasing me up, but I was too fast. I got to the top, but there were a heavy and soldier waiting, so I ran back. Knowing that I couldn't fight my way out, I waited for the pyro to ascend the stairs, then double jumped over him to a lower staircase elevation, and ran while he turned around and fired. I got the briefcase out, and we eventually won.

Rick Flag (DC Comics): I don't read comics very often, so my only exposure to this character is via the first Suicide Squad movie, since I never saw the second. I'll repeat the only thing I remember about him: "THIS IS KATANA. SHE'S GOT MY BACK. I WOULD ADVISE NOT GETTING KILLED BY HER."
