Do people generally think Ark or Crusade is a better movie? As far as I can tell there's a consensus that Temple of Doom was the worst of the 3 but the others seem more up in the air.

The first three movies are all good. But the movie that is considered the worst in the series is kingdom of the crystal skulls.

IMO raiders of the lost ark was the best.

-strong cast of characters
-lots of memorable action scene's including the "don't bring a knife to gunfight"
-epic score from John Williams, although all three movies have a great soundtrack

I tended to dislike how the plot of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade were heavily inspired by religion. Temple of Doom at least had supernatural elements that weren't religious in nature.

Any reason? I have the same issue with horror movies like The Exorcist. The only movie of that ilk that I really like is The Omen, and I sort of have to ignore the canon of the series to enjoy that.

As much as I love Empire, Air Force One, and Clear and Present Danger, easily Raiders of the Lost Ark for me.

I understand people have different tastes, but I think you have objectively bad tastes if you dont enjoy the heck out of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
