I thought it would happen by the middle of the 1st season, but here we are. But the character interactions are not quite as good and there's been some almost season 7-8 or GoT level head scratching decisions. But it's managed to reignite the fandom and make even most of the most cynical former fans express interest in this world again. I thought the vitriol, disappointment, and lack of faith created by GoT's ending would have made it impossible.
