If Elon Musk is a demigod and worshiped, what does that make China whom Elon Musk kowtows to?

Before he used to have interesting ideas, brought electrical cars mainstream, and didn't really spout his stupid opinions that much.

Now people know most of his interesting ideas aren't that good (look at how his hyperloop turned out to be a shitty subway for example), Tesla cars have lots of problems and competition, and he says stupid shit all the time.

I'm guessing people like to pretend everything is still the same from over 10 years ago.

I think the idea of his fanboys is grossly exaggerated. I think hatred for him is pretty universal at this point. Wouldn't surprise me if his online defenders were bots. He does have an unhealthy fixation with them, after all

He sold people on his fanciful ideas, and the ever so honest journalists then fanned that cycle by putting out vapid hype story after vapid hype story. So now you have the indoctrinated people and the people who still buy these hype stories without looking any deeper into it.

He's extremely intelligent, work extremely hard for his money, hates cancel culture, owns amazing companies and tech, and is big on free speech. What is to hate about him?

Second, he's not actually for "free speech", and actually wants to turn Twitter into a far-right platform against "political enemies".

He reminds me of the dude from social network. I think the real Zuckerberg is nothing like the character portrayed, IRL he's been said to be far less ruthless/edgy/evil. But Musk seems more like that
