Massive window which condensates and freezes in winter. I did a lot of caulking and sealing last winter to improve insulation but I know I'm losing a lot of heat with this window. It faces west as well, so the sun isn't hitting until later in the day.

Plastics sheeting or something? Any recommendations?

It's actually already getting hit hard with condensation so I'm looking to do something sooner than later this time.

I would cut out a sheet of cardboard to fit (My job has them) and spray paint one side white and secure it in place. Well if your house is white I guess.

I did that to some of my windows once at it worked significantly.

My house is white yeah.

I do like sunlight coming through though.

I like it though. it's just not great for winter as far as heating is concerned

If thats a single pane window caulked into wood, youll Probably just need to commit to an upgrade. If thats out of your budget, then heat shrink plastic. Youll lose a lot of that view, tho. Your electric company may have a program where theyll pay a portion. If you rent, maybe the landlord will split it with you or even pay if you take pictures of the frozen window.

An upgrade as in a storm window or something? I think the previous owner replaced it before I bought this place.

is it a single or double pane window? Does it have a frame, or is the glass set into the wood?

I had a big bay single pane in an old house I rented. The owner upgraded because I complained about how I needed air flow in the summer and that there werent any windows to support air conditioning.

If there's condensation forming and its constantly cooler, more than likely there's a crack in the frame somewhere. Getting it replaced is the best bet long term.

I believe it's single pane. It's thick

Bleh, a replacement would have to wait until next year. Just had to replace my oven.

It's not making my house freezing cold FYI, I think it's really just impacting insulation
