A new adult character Corey is baby sitting a kid. Kid is an asshole and scares Corey with stories of Michael Myers and then pulls a prank and locks the Corey in the attic. Corey kicks the door down which hits the kid and knocks him off a stairwell breaking his neck just as the parents arrive home. Really good scene.
Corey is free some time later and is a more disturbed individual now. His mom is abusive in a loud nagging sort of way which eventually leads to her kissing Corey after slapping him in the face to showcase that hes a damaged person. Corey is now getting bullied by high school kids that he refused to buy beer for. He gets beat up and Laurie Strode chases off the kids and takes this guy to the hospital. Lauries granddaughter falls in love with him instantly and he turns her down before she starts to stalk him at his workplace. All within the span of what seems like a few days the two seem to fall in love and act like theyre in their teens despite being mid 20s. Corey gets drunk and dumps Lauries granddaughter and shes completely distraught by it. The guy tries to walk home and the high school kids throw him off a bridge. Michael Myers finally shows up and drags the guy into a sewer where hes been hiding out for 4 years.
Corey locks eyes with Michael and you get a scene that looks like Michaels evil powers have been transferred to Corey. Now Corey wants to kill people and becomes this deranged psycho and brings a cop to Michael as a sacrifice. Michael is weak as fuck and can barely make the kill without some encouragement from Corey. Michael seems to power up a little after the kill and the rest of the movie almost seems like Michael is grooming Corey to be the new Shape, but you rarely see Michael in the entire movie until the end. Laurie Strode without any reason whatsoever starts to think Corey is the new Michael Myers despite her not knowing hes been killing people. She just has a feeling and tries to convince her granddaughter not to run away with Corey. Lauries granddaughter leaves the house and Corey decides he needs Michael Myers mask to fully complete his transformation. So Corey goes into the sewer and literally wrestles with Michael taunting him that hes just a man before tackling him to the ground and taking Michaels mask.
Laurie proceeds to pretend shes going to kill herself before Myers Corey gets faked out by Laurie and shot. Corey gets up on his knees and instead of killing Laurie he stabs him self. Michael Myers finally takes his Mask back and throws Laurie around some before she kicks Michels ass and pins him to the kitchen table by stabbing a knife threw both his hands. She then takes off his mask and slits his throat. Seemingly dead Laure thinks its over but Michael rips his hand through the knife and starts to choke Laurie. Shes now begging Michael to end it before her granddaughter shows up for the save. Michael is now dead. Theyre not done with him yet though and the cops arrive to see what happened. They allow the Strodes to strap Michael to the roof of their car and the townsfolk all gather and meet at a landfill where they carry Michaels body and drop him in a roller crusher showing Michaels body burst into the machine. Strode girls story is over and she can live in peace. The end.

what's wrong with it people are just saying it's bad but i don't get it from reading the plot summary
Because it's a Halloween movie where Michael is a side-character, and it's really about some guy named Corey becoming a psycho. It's also just kinda boring and miserable. It takes like an hour for the real slasher stuff to start.

Sigh. I'm disappointed. I don't think this is how they originally planned to go. But their plan changed cause of covid. The last movie was supposed to be on the same night as the other 2 movies
