Some thoughts:

Maybe the weakest episode so far, not bad though

Felt like d and d came back for the ending

Larys killed his dad and bro for feet

To avoid making alicent the next cersei they went with a misunderstanding

Holy f*** at that ending

they just let this Criston dude kill whoever he wants

Really don't like how they're trying to make Alicent sympathetic in the show. She never cared for more than her own ambition.

and this. If shes gonna kill a ton of people instead of waiting another hour or so, she should have at least killed the causing the trouble.

just one of those statements that only happen in fiction, where it's like, "if I wanted you dead, you would have been."

but in reality, that person would eventually be killed due to their arrogance.

The sad thing is we wont get the best parts of the DWD until next season at the least. But if HEAVY SPOILERS from book:

this is where Luke meets Ameon at storms end then were about to see some good stuff next episode.

It's always cool seeing the destruction a dragon can do but I did not like that scene at all.

Reddit put it best - that's a season 7/8 GoT scene.

No but we dont usually know what goes on behind closed doors in the book. We never truly learn what Laryss motives are.

I'm definitely enjoying House of the Dragon. The dragons are my favorite part of the Game of Thrones universe, so I love seeing them on screen a lot more.

Larys is a total mystery in the books. Practically nothing about him is revealed

Didn't she also say something about trying to find another way besides violence? She clearly locked eyes with Alicent so I figure she was trying to show her it doesn't have to be that way.

I feel like when Aegon cowered behind his mother, it kind of cemented for Rhaenys that Rhaenyra is the better one for the job. So part of it was sending a message, and the other part was testing Aegon.

I don't like how they did this though. She could have ended it right there. She should have just fled.

It was a badass scene but as it is it just changes the perception of her as a sympathetic character. She killed hundreds of innocent smallfolk just to ruin the coronation and embarrass the Greens. Very reminiscent of Daenerys suddenly murdering the smallfolk.

They should have shown more of the interior of the Dragon Pit earlier in the show. Specifically the level directly underneath the colosseum floor. Just to give an idea of how huge it is and how thin the flooring above is. Also showing Rhaenys angry reaction to the crowd around her chanting something like death to the false queen would have helped.

Various details like this seem small in text but they can go a long way in explaining what we see on the screen without having to be explained in character dialogue, or by the producers in a behind the scenes video. As it is, its just a scene included for shock value.

I still enjoyed it though.
