I mean obviously its because OW2 is F2P but still.

First you see the takes that Dva is OP because of self-destruct (lol)

Then you see the takes where people think shes useless because the enemies figured out how to not die to self-destruct (taking cover)

Shes one of the best tanks rn btw.

Im sure these are the same people I see in my ranked games who throw Baptise Immortality Field out off cooldown for some reason (ranks are all fucked rn because its just one of the many fuckups/bugs that came with the relaunch)

Defense Matrix is the best its ever been

Its so fucking obnoxious to play against lmao, and while I play her (shes always been a favorite of mine, just cuz the concept of her character is cool) I would definitely support a nerf if shes deemed too strong

I have to see the kinds of things the people I get matched with are thinking cuz it makes babysitting the team easier

When a game becomes F2P, you normally get an increase in younger players playing it which means you get the same typical "This character is OP because I lost to them". I hear it all the time in the Multiversus community lol. It's probably worst in the LoL community.

Free 2 Play = kids and latin americans

On a side note, I know people are hating on OW2 monetization but the gameplay is so much fun.

I just started playing it over the weekend for the first time. Seemed fun until I told someone I work with. They were like, that game is trash.

Not sure what the backstory is but Im enjoying learning a new game so far.

The monetization is mainly getting hate because you used to get so much from loot boxes. Problem is you had to grind the shit out of them to actually get a guaranteed shot at something you wanted. So the old system benefitted longtime, dedicated players much more. I was level 376 I think? So I played for a while but I definitely didnt qualify for that title.

Really the one thing that pisses me off is locking the new hero behind the battle pass. Everything else idc as much because I bought the game when it came out 6 years ago. Thats way longer than most multiplayer games last.

Yes? I dont think theres ever been a hero that has been meta for the games entire lifespan. I remember her not being that good when OW1 came out for example. Defense Matrix didnt have a resource and instead was a static cooldown. She didnt have micro missiles either.

Launch D.Va was one of the most useless characters rivaling Widowmaker.

I kinda hate Widowmaker now

Like I hated barrier spam before, but she easily is one of the heroes that benefits the most from it being gone

Plus with it being 5v5, picks matter so much more

After it was on a resource meter and before they nerfed the range when it was dummy long.

But yeah the current duration of it is such a deterrent against ults even if you're not eating them. Like just keep it open in their face and your team usually kills them before they risk ulting.

Plus if you miss a grav you can hold it out long enough to at least eat the Hanzodragon that would follow etc.

Also this is the most F2P moment Ive had in the game so far. Was PotG too (only your Top 5 per day save though which is dumb?)

Zarya is my favorite, she feels stronger than in overwatch 1 for some reason.

My most hated to go up against is Roadhog with a 200 hp dps or support. I've gotten one shot with the chain so many times. It always has a longer reach than I think. When I see Roadhog I feel fear.

Sure but 9 times out of 10 it's much more effective to have 4 of your teammates push forward after a team fight to maintain momentum/get positional advantage and have the pokefight there while your 1 teammate pushes (and if they're Ana/Bap, heal from cart).

The speed increase for 3 people vs 1 person is so small that its only useful in a handful of situations.

Game is fun enough.

It somehow feels way slower than the first game. Movement itself feels way slower.
I also wish they had added some new maps or game modes. It feels very samey.

My gf just started it recently. The biggest criticism I've heard is it's apparently just like the first one, but she never played it before, and she's having a blast.

I know, I just feel if they wanted to re-release as "overwatch 2" then a couple new maps and game modes would have helped fans transition and felt better.

They did add new maps and a new game mode

New game mode: Push (3 new maps - Colosseo, Esperanca, New Queen Street)
2CP maps removed; maps will be reworked into other modes in the future (mode was widely hated by the community, and some of the maps were even disabled in OW1 because they were so hated)
1 new Escort (Circuit Royale) + 2 new hybrid maps (Midtown, Paraiso)
