Now that Halloween is approaching, the victim's mother, Tony Hughes, has spoken out against outfits that resemble Jeffrey Dahmer. Shirley told TMZ that seeing a popular Netflix series about a serial killer was already quite upsetting, let alone seeing others dressed like the perpetrator. Hughes was one of the 17 men that Dahmer killed, and he was also nonverbal and deaf. Due to the criticism, larger retailers have decided not to stock Dahmer costumes, but it's still simple to acquire costume accessories online on sites like eBay. As Dahmer costumes, people are offering blonde wigs, vintage-inspired clothing, and wire-rimmed glasses. "It hurts for Netflix and all the online stores to profit off her son's death, while none of the victims' families have seen a dime. She feels all the eBay ads should be taken down ... or at the very least, give the profits to the families," she said to TMZ.
