economy tanking from policies

I'm not 100% informed but I've read some things about it being Tories in general but Truss escalated it and is a scapegoat / extra clownish

You know, for how much Brexit was supposed to bring this new golden age for the UK, their prime ministers just don't seem to be able to ride that wave of wealth and prosperity they kept saying was right around the corner.

I once saw a theory that bringing Truss in, in the first place, was a ploy for the Tories to make people miss Boris so much that the people will be happy to see him return and accept him with wider arms. Gods, I can only hope nothing so idiotic is true, but my faith in humanity isn't exactly high -- wasn't before taking a job in retail and food service.

I thought the UK was better than the US because they had free healthcare. The answer is that they still are, but they're really looking to imitate the greatest country on Earth here.

I think the biggest difference between the US and the UK is that UK politicians have the ability to feel shame and resign. Also it seems like they have way more swing voters who could vote socialist one year and conservative the next.

Believe it or not Boris is thinking of running for Prime Minister to replace Truss, or at least that is what's being said by the BBC and company. What I don't get is why all of these people like Truss and company believe that voodoo economics actually will work considering that it never has in the past twenty to thirty years or more.

Thats obviously not true.

Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordant are expected to be front runners for leadership. Boris is an outside chance of even putting his name in, but should never have had to leave in the first place.

Yeah, as much as populism is on the rise and a lot of people are eager to accept somebody that feeds them a steady stream of scapegoats for the problems they have, a party that keeps very obviously screwing up and can't keep a consistent leader isn't exactly going to be most people's #1 choice.
