Tell him to just show up and process. Then he would maybe get a half day of serving. I didnt feel like doing jury duty and just went with it to show up.

Like i made it all the way to jury selection with a defendant and the lawyer, prosecutor, & judge. decided to throw saying i was traveling from a county 1 hour away. For that jury selection i was let go and the judge thanked me lol

From the one time I was summoned, it was pretty boring but easy enough to not get selected. A lot of people thought being on the extremes would get them thrown out, but that kinda backfired for them since both sides (defense and prosecution) are trying to get the extremists who align best with their desired outcome.

Just be moderate and sensible and they'll likely let you go.

I know this is bait, but why does it bother you? People can skip jury duty.

I was summoned for jury duty earlier this year, and postponed twice, which you're allowed within 18 months, iirc.

they sent me another notice, but due to being sick and having work projects I couldn't put off, I ignored the third notice.

I haven't checked to see how many more might have been sent to me, lol.

I just give the slip to my boss and he writes an excuse for it lol

I have ignored a few without consequence. The rest I just had my employer give me a letter to get excused.

I was chosen for grand jury duty. I wrote a letter to be excused explaining my circumstances....newborn, I work nights, lack of childcare etc. They excused me.

I showed up late for my jury duty but lucky it got canceled.

I got summoned earlier this year and I said i couldnt attend due to anxiety and depression which i take medication for.

I probably could have done it, but that was acceptable enough for them to say okay, no for you.
