Im reflecting on my office job days and it really seems like a good portion of the people I worked with were absolute idiots

I only knew a handful that were legitimately smart but I was told by everybody that all office workers are bright, smart, and intelligent

Just the receptionist is incredibly stupid. The rest are probably pretty smart.

I'd have to go out in the parking lot and see what bumper stickers they have

I've never met them.

There are so many that are stupid I can't count

How do you define, and classify intelligence? That needs to be answered, as intelligence has many definitions, and theories -- for example are we discussing about Spearmans General Intelligence (g)?
Or are we discussing Thurstones Primary Mental Abilities or Gardners Multiple Intelligences, which means we ask which aspect do you mean? Since both state there's multiple forms of intelligence.

I sometimes wonder about the one extreme Trumper in my office. Most people seem smart enough, though.

Im in a field where if you arent at least slightly clever you dont really make it, so its not really surprising theres nobody Id consider stupid.

One or two are completely lacking in common sense perhaps, but certainly not stupid.

I feel like with white collar jobs, either everyone is wicked smart, or everyone is a dumb asshole. There's no inbetween >_>

At my first office job, there were a bunch of people there who were at level 1 positions after like 9 years, whereas a decently competent person gets to level 2 in a couple years or less. The jobs I've had since then were better but you still do get that occasional person where it's like how are you unable to understand shit you've done here 50 times before

Oh yeah, I worked with someone like that in my old job. Id been there for 4 months, theyd been there for about 15 years and I had to teach them many, many times how to do basic business-critical things that they just never bothered committing to memory.
