she was desperate, and hoping that she could fix her relationship with him, and if not, that Buldur would at least be satisfied with her death.

kratos beat his ass and was willing to walk away what do you mean? It wasn't until buldur starting acting like the [if i speak my mind i'll get modded] and tried to kill his own mother he stepped in and murdered him. Yeah I know Kratos killed Zeus but unless GoW:R gives us some backstory as too why buldur hated his mom so much he comes off as a little prick to me

Baldur hated his mom since she, what he views, cursed him with immortality, where because of that, he was unable to feel, taste, or smell anything, iirc.

the only reason why Baldur confronts Kratos in the beginning of the game was because Zeus sent him for Kratos' wife, and Zeus promised Baldur he'd undo/try to undo Freya's spell.

It does? I guess in the most literal sense it doesn't, but when you're in Helheim, Baldur is watching a memory of him and Freya talking about the spell where he nearly kills her because of it.

I think Baldur actually goes the whole game under the belief that Kratos is Laufey. I don't remember him ever referring to Kratos by name.

Nah he's still an ass, he's just an ass that's now happy that he can die and there's actual stakes/thrills to his life now. Just like the man in black from westworld

We already know why he hated his mom, and hey, at least he just tried to kill her and not an entire pantheon ruining all of Greece. Kratos is a much bigger prick than Balder could ever hope to be.

What does GoW do about the disenchantment of the world?

Just Zeus, and that was because Kratos immediately turned around and started just doing what got Ares on their shit list in the first place
