Some released in 2021. I dont get why rock isnt popular enough to be in the mainstream like Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith, etc. Some of the bands include Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, and Arctic Monkeys. Only reason I found out was I wondered what happened to them. I was thinking they were all like The White Stripes and broken up or something. --- http://i.imgur.com/GZUKvFD.gif ... I probably would have realized sooner the bands were still alive and making music if they were mainstream. Just feels so weird since back when I found them out the genre was so popular and you heard their songs everywhere. Like Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out was everywhere. Now its kind of rare to hear them or even see people mention their existence. --- http://i.imgur.com/GZUKvFD.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have to favorite artists now on Apple Music, subscribe to them on YouTube or follow them on Bandcamp to be sure I'm getting updates. It's easier to just make your own music as a solo artist. Less overhead. Epitaph was signing mumble rap at one point. Popularity means nothing to me. I remember though when I heard Party Hard somewhere the other day and it did remind me of the mid 2000s Madden. Had that Franz Ferdinand song too hehe I mean it is easiler for rock bands to get their music out now too without a label dictating their look and style but I doubt you'll ever see a major new rock band again blow up to such mainstream levels. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. SodomInsane posted... But they arent in mainstream. Uhh yeah they are. Evil used to get lots of play back in the day and I'm sure that video creeped out plenty of people just slightly older than me when it played on MTV. I was just at a show they did with Spoon a month or so ago which was well attended. A lot of the dudes were showing beginning stages of balding though :( There have been a LOT of bands that have put out albums in the past 2 years, partly due to delayed albums in 2020 and early 2021. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2022_albums That list will catch you up to speed on many well known musical acts, a lot of which you'll notice are rock or derivative of rock. Just change the year in the URL to get anything prior to this year. It's still not that comprehensive though, as there are still a lot of bands, like many European metal acts, that I wouldn't know about having new albums if not for following them on Spotify. On one hand, I do miss hearing new songs that actually interest me on the radio, and I really just stopped listening to pop radio altogether (and rock radio for the most part unless I can't use my phone). On the other hand, I don't want to see another Fall Out Boy or Imagine Dragons being pushed as some stale example of how rock is still relevant to the corporate music world. If rock were still making the big bucks, we'd have a lot more label-tailored bands to sift through to get to the good stuff. ... Copied to Clipboard!
