Yeah I haven't played the DLC but considering the game lets you enslave people, harvest organs, cut off all their limbs, eat them, and so on, but now with children...

Shit probably gets weird!

So far so good, you can disable children all together and you have to click a button to enable child soldiers.

Yeah but can you remove children from the game

If you leave your freezer door open, your meat spoils and your colony dies.

the gene stuff is so awesome. It really individualizes the pawns more and opens the door for a lot of emergent story telling

also gives even more opportunity for becoming OP.

the mechanitor and vampire stuff seems like fun but the gene stuff has just taken the game to another level

Also it is really annoying that everyone acts like the only way to play this game is to be as horrible as possible and try to min-max existence. Ive almost put 1000 hours in and the worst thing Ive done is do autopsy on dead raiders for a bunch of body parts and then I got punished and my game ended because my wealth went instantly out of control

havent gotten to that point yet and the Rimworld lets player I watch hasnt gotten too far yet but from the sounds of it, how much you take care of them determines how good your trait rolls are going to be, so the amount of time and quality furniture you invest in them is going to determine how good the pawn is going to be.

I should mention that I usually start as naked tribal brutality but with the most OP pawn I can create and BioTech added a ton of story changing genes. The debug menu is so much better now the command palette is fantastic. I usually die as soon as I get three pawns because of how much wealth OP characters create and 1/2 pawn gets really easy raids

okay, I started a vampire run and made the vampire a kid and paired him with a god pawn. Once they are not a baby The only special things are kid clothes and a school desk coupled with blackboards. Depending on how many points you get between age milestones (ages 7,10,13), you will get a certain number of passion points to invest and a number of traits to choose from. If you can get maximum learning during the time a child is developing that is 9 passion points and a good chance of 3 top tier skills.
