I was going to play the game but someone spoiled it and said Arthur dies and you play as someone else.

Is it true and should I even bother playing it now ?

Finish the game. You have no idea what you're in for. I had it spoiled for me too. I was pissed. It still ruined me. Play it. Savor it. Let beats linger. Spend time in the world. Then beat it.

Knowing stuff like this was the norm for those of us just old enough to remember the back-of-book and back-of-the-vhs-cover blurbs. Shit, there's probably people old enough here to remember "I am your father" being in the trailer.

Even longer than that. For the better part of human history, fictional stories, plays, poems, etc all had foregone conclusions. They'd be based on stories that everyone already sort of "knew" through cultural osmosis, or the chorus, such as in Romeo and Juliet, Oedipus Rex, or Antogone, would tell you the outcome outright; the point of the story wasn't the conclusion itself, but rather what happened to bring about said conclusion.

The fixation with avoiding spoilers and keeping the "surprise" factor intact is actually a pretty damn recent cultural phenomenon. That said, I won't blame anyone for ascribing to it; we all enjoy media in our own ways. But it is something of a modern oddity.

The joy is in the adventure, not the destination. If that's enough to turn you off a piece of media, just get off the internet entirely and forever. Also grow up.

double protagonists, where it's either Dutch and Jack at different points in their lives, or Dutch and Hosea before they linked up...with a Jack epilogue (I need to see how his story ends!)
