That shit fucking sucked. 9/10 show instantly 2/10.

I'm sick of this serial killer glorification bullshit. Not to mention Steve Carell's character's death makes the whole god damn series completely meaningless.

I don't think the point was for the ending to be positive. You were supposed to feel like shit.

I think people are less tolerant of media that doesn't make them feel good now-a-days. A sad ending isn't a pointless one. It's just sad.

It can be sad without falling flat on its face and feeling unsatisfying.

What would have been satisfying? Is there any ending that isn't "serial killer gets what's coming to him, relatable main character prevails" that would have satisfied you?

I just don't understand the critic. Like, very obviously the big theme of the show was about this jewish father coping with an inevitable death. Like, the repeated holocaust allegories should have tipped you off that this was the point of the show.

So, yeah, it would have felt good for him to escape, or for the serial killer to get caught, but that would have been completely counter to the narrative that they set up.
