I didn't buy Overwatch so getting it free awesome for me

literally didn't care about lootboxes in OW1 i was just buying skins directly per the coin system anyway. in fact i want lootboxes back in OW2 because the system that replaced it is ultra ass.

this happened with Rocket League, no more loot boxes and keys you have to buy, instead you get "blueprints" for things like wheels that cost like 30 bucks to "craft"

And the more companies successfully market and sell useless cosmetic packs that cost more then a new game, the more theyre going to churn out low quality shit games for the express purpose of making a quick buck selling useless trash to morons.

I didnt play much of OW1 at all but am really enjoying OW2 so far. What is the deal with skins that people care so much about? The reviews of the game are confusing.

I would like to take this opportunity to preach about the battle pass system in Deep Rock Galactic.

It's a free seasonal content which typically stretches to about 4 months in which you can progress at a normal rate by just playing or getting a slight boost by doing the daily challenge (typically about an hour+ to complete). You can stack up to 3 daily challenges which can be completed concurrently if they share the same parameters. You can even change the challenge once a day if the tasks are not to your preference.

Rewards are credits/resources & 100% cosmetics like weapon & armor skins, victory taunts and beards. You can even choose what reward you want.

Best part is if you can't complete the season in time, whatever cosmetic you missed will be rolled into the main game so you can still earn them through the existing mechanics, but on a random chance.

Season 2 is coming to an end in a few days and the next season will be up by Nov 3. I'm expecting a sale to coincide with S3 release so wishlist it now and wait for a week.

Because the actual moment to moment gameplay is really fun :)

Modern gaming makes me feel like such a confused boomer. Everyone is completely obsessed with skins in a FPS game that they can't see. And no, they're not the same as clothes. I can fucking see my own clothes and clothing usually actually serves a purpose. It's like a weird, endless hamster wheel: "I need content! I can't possibly play a video game without endless content! I hate every moment I play this game but I have to grind it like a job so Ball_Licker69 envies my new Kiriko skin!"

I just wish people would populate more interesting FPS games. I wish Respawn was working on Titanfall 3 RIGHT NOW instead of Season 15 of Apex Legends.
