Michael_Booth 10/26/22 4:14:13 PM #1:	Basically my wife Clair was wearing a black dress when I left for a meeting yesterday afternoon. When I came back there was, who I thought was my wife wearing the same black dress (but it was her sister) just leaning over the sofa as I'm walking in -- so I kissed her on the neck working towards the front, and hugged her towards me (as I often do when coming home), and was just about to kiss her on the lips when I saw her eyes... and then my wife said that Kara was coming for dinner as she walked into the room, and saw me and Kara together.... I was about to apologize, when Kara turned to me and said in a surly voice "We're supposed to wait until my sister's gone to bed, lover..." and giggled. Turning the whole situation into a joke as she always does, and not helping the situation... My wife just shook her head and left the room. I think at this point of the story, I should say Kara and my wife are identical twins, except Kara has heterochromia, of brown and blue whereas Claire just has blue eyes. However, Kara lives like a state over, so rarely comes for just dinner but she's in a bad patch at the moment and came over as a spur of the moment thing, and stayed the night. So, after apologizing to Kara who just brushed it off, we had dinner and went to bed. I was quite tired, anyway, so wasn't in bed long before sleep took me. Anyway, this morning my wife was still out of sorts, before I left for the office. I asked what was bothering her, and she said nothing, but I could tell and I kept at it and she admitted it, it was the whole incident. I professed it was an accident, but she shook her head and said that wasn't it, she didn't mind that. What annoyed her was we'd been married for 5 years and I still can't tell the back of her sister and her apart. She said I should be able to, easily, as they're so different but I'm unable to discern any differences... Especially if it's routine. But that now that you made this mistake, it will definitely be in your head and not happen again. I dunno. Im not married and never have been. But I set the bar pretty low from the gate here. If you expect me to be 100% accurate and never make humanly mistakes, I immediately want to not be around you >_>. Cause you're asking too much of me and it will become impossible to live up to that and not cause problems down the line. I like being around people who laugh off stuff like this. Unless there's a history between you and her sister that make this seem more suspect, I don't think you're in the wrong at all. Id say try to ve understanding of her side. I was reading a book and was kinda zoned out, and saw what I thought was my wife approaching me out of my peripheral. So I just blindly put my hand out around waist level to stop her, with the intention of pulling her onto the couch. At the last possible moment I noticed it was her mom and not her, and pulled my arm away very quick and awkwardly.
