It ain't looking like the type of pen to turn heads, ya know?

If i hand somebody my Lamy, will they even care?

This is regarded by some as the best pen of all time, but for 50 bucks I want it to turn heads, y'see?

$50 really isn't much for a decent pen. I have a couple from D Rocket Labs, Microtech, and Tactile Turn. They were all $100-$300 each. I probably use the D Rocket Kaze the most. I grabbed the Polished Zirconium w/Bronze internals. Zirc is really heavy, feels good in the hand. They might still have some left.

This. I'm fine with a going back to school pack of roller balls for 50 cents, but my at my local stationary store $50 would probably be considered an entry level price to decent pens. Most of their stock was in the 100-200 range and I think they had a couple even higher than that iirc.

If you got a lamy 2000 for 50 bucks, its fake.

Also I don't like Lamy. Better pens out there.

It's one pen, but I bought all the different color refills for it. Fancier pens with high quality ink don't tend to have many color options. Parker rollerball ink comes in blue and black, fine and medium and that is it, for example.

$50 is the cheapest I've seen the rollerball version, but the price wasn't so outrageously cheap it gave me red flags. I bought it from a seller on the walmart website....when I get it I am going to be checking for authenticity. I imagine it wouldn't be that hard to determine...I bought a Parker once that was fake and I could tell almost immediately.

Lastly, I've never owned a Lamy, but I've read a lot of buzz about it...we'll see if it blows me away. Maybe it won't. I don't know yet.

Ah it's ball point. I thought you got a fountain. Yeah no one cares about ballpoint pens enough to fake.

It's a rollerball. And the Parker i bought was a ballpoint and it was fake.

The primary place I use my pen is at work, and I don't really feel like that would be a good place for one. Can fountain ink write well on receipt paper without smudging?

Guy makes ink under the name Noodlers. I am pretty sure Teo of his 2 dozen black ink varieties are formulated for receipt paper.

I have custom pens that were close to that amount and I only use them for notes for work and to jot down passwords and such in games, although I used them in college for notes at seminars, they still work for being over 12 years old.

He had a Bullet proof black that is impossible to erase without evidence and even offers anyone 10k if they can prove that they can do it.

Only problem with him is he does a lot of colors and he keeps all the recipes to himself so some times you have to wait for certain colors. My two favorite colors of his are black swan in australian roses and apache sunset. Google them, they are beautiful

Those are nice looking. One day perhaps I might want to get a fountain pen, but for now, I like rollerball. I feel like if I did a lot of personal writing like a diary or somesuch a fountain would be good, but I feel like for a lot of scribbling and notesat work a rollerball works fine....at least it has thusfar without any issues.

Pen fetish thats a new one to me.

Literally no one cares what kind of pen you use.

I get a decent number of compliments on the pens I use when I hand them to somebody to sign something. If I saw somebody using a very nice pen I would compliment them, too. A nice pen doesn't even have to be expensive, it can just be something like a pilot G2 or Zebra brand which is on the cheap side but still writes well.
