I liked 1 well enough, but haven't seen 2. I also haven't seen any of the Holland ones, but I generally liked him better in the other MCU movies than I did the other Spiders-Men in their own.

The first one was okay, but not good as Spider-Man 1 and 2.

The second one was terrible.

And no, I didn't like them as much as the MCU ones.

Spider-Man 2 is still the best superhero movie ever made

I liked both of them a lot, they matched some comics I read in the early 90s as a kid. idk why I just really enjoyed them, saw the 2nd one while I was in Nanning, China.

The only think I know about Amazing Spider-Man 2 was that they filmed part of the car chase scene on the street behind where I was working at the time. The whole filming was only a week, but it was interesting to watch the process. With all the CGI and camera tricks though I doubt I would recognize it if I saw it.

Other then that, not a huge Spider-Man fan. Only real interest I have in him is a lot of the villians from the 60's made cameos in early Daredevil comics, and it seems like they team up once ever few years.

Second one killed the second trilogy for good reason but overall while I appreciated how closer the first was to the comics the version of P.P. played by Garfield seemed like an unlikeable douche with forgettable lines.

The first trilogy still aged well and are still great classics.

your problem

Are you implying that this Fa bloke is blinded by his nostalgia, and so would enjoy media that resonates with those happy memories of enjoying Spider-Man media as a child, moreso than media that attempts to veer from the familiar?

No, I'm implying that comics from the 90s were notoriously and almost memetically shit to the nth degree, and thus render anyone who is fond of them incapable of actually distinguishing between good and bad storytelling.

People refer to it as "The Dork Age of Comics" for a reason.

First one was good.
2nd was bad, but still better than Spider-man 3

It was so frustrating, b/c Andrew Garfield is my favorite live action movie Spider-Man (90's animated show and Japanese Spider-Man surpass him), and I also vastly preferred Emma to Kirsten and Zendaya.
But holy crap, is nearly everything else around those two just sadly....terrible. Support characters, writing, even special effects / costumes...
I was glad the 3rd in the Homeward Bound series finally put Garfield in a Spider-man movie that was made competently, so people finally gave him his due.

I didn't like any of the ones past Tobey. I've been very put off by superhero movies in general for a while. Heavy droughts of shit movies these days.

Ive seen the first one and liked it well enough, but I havent seen the second. I generally like Andrew Garfield so I didnt have much against the films.

Raimis trilogy is good, albeit with that aughts campiness (in hindsight) but I dont think it detracts from the quality of the films too much. 3 was the weakest if only because it was a case of too many cooks imo.

Ive only seen Homecoming from the MCU offerings. Its not bad but I dont think its as memorable as the Raimi trilogy, for better or worse. I also find Hollands features in the greater MCU to be weak, since I wasnt a fan of Civil War or Infinity War/Endgame. Holland as Spider-Man isnt a bad pick, I just wish the MCU was better.
