Probably not many sneaker heads on here but a lot of the designs where pretty cool and I was hoping to see more and it was cool to see Adidas relevant again. Oh well hopefully he bounces back

I guess it's subjective at the end of the day but I personally loved the designs. The 450s reminded me of a more modern sleek version of the Nike Foamposites which I had a bunch of back when I was really into shoes.

Overall...good riddance. He was a huge reason why the culture of shoes got so toxic so quickly. Yeah there were Jordan heads and such way before Kanye ever dropped a shoe, but he made it more mainstream and thus brought in all the straight for cash people who took the fun out of the hobby.

I think that impact occurred before he even got the deal with Adidas and started the Yeezy shoe brand. Back in the late 00s and throughout the 2010s he was responsible for the resurgence and popularity of retro Jordans which created the toxic hypebeast culture we have today.

I can remember Nike wasn't pumping out retro Jordans back in the 2000s for a while and where releasing a lot fusions and team Jordan's that people hated. That's when you would always see Kanye with a fresh pair of Jordan 1s or 6s on. It wasn't until like 2010 Nike started releasing retro Jordans again like crazy and the hypebeast culture formed from that.

Another thing I enjoyed about the Adidas Yeezy brand is that they really weren't that hard to get compared to Jordans and even after release on aftermarkets the price increase was very minimal so they where very accessible which is what he said he wanted anyway. So I can't say I agree he was negative to the culture.

Kanye was the final straw that made me realize way back that Fashion really is only about popularity and accessibility and nothing about how the item actually looks.

Adidas is rereleasing the shoes without the Ye branding if you actually just like the shoes.

I think most people only cared at all because of Ye.

I mean he DID design them. It's not like he was just the "mascot" like Jordan was. I'm not gonna buy some modded version of them and Adidas is lame as hell for continuing to release the shoes.
