The girl at the office said "I can try to get you off early so you can go get a doctor's note." I need to drive to the hospital while sick so a DOCTOR can say "yep, you're sick"? What a joke.

Go to dr for anti biotics?

Try calling the doctor's office and relaying your symptoms and tell them you don't want to come in because of the fear of COVID, ask your doctor to email you a sick letter than you can forward to work.

I hate greedy ass corporations man.

Before I was the boss I ised to bottow my gfs phone and call in once to get the supervisor on the phone. Then immediately call from my phone so itd go to voicemail.

Then Id turn everything off and go back to sleep.

My brother has folded to prioritizing work over health and literally life and death family situations.

His workplace his trash but so are his decisions. Leave your company if you can TC. At some point you'll mix up keeping your job to stay afloat with how it's keeping your from finding something better.

This happened to me to me at the very start of covid. Like the the january before everything shut down. Turns out it was covid. Got pretty much every person in the office sick since it was one of those "open" offices where its just basically everyone in a big room sitting at long tables. I got called names like "Plaguebearer" and shit. To be fair though they did it in a joking way, since everyone knew it sure as hell wasn't me that wanted to come in.

Sad to say its either this or typical corporate greed. :/

I vividly remember a company meeting 10 years or so ago at Walmart where a manager literally told all of us "I don't care if any of you are sick. Blow your nose and come in anyway".

So now, even though my last few jobs don't care, I still have a fear of calling in sick or missing days of work in general because of how much of a fit retail places would throw over it.

i definitely hate employers and am pretty anti-work, but there's a level of sickness where it's fine to still work imo. i don't think we can really get the message across about unfair working conditions if we don't admit that much
