It's by the team that made Ender Lillies, one of my favorite games of last year

I'm interested to see what people say about it. Looks like Stardew Valley crossed with Final Fantasy.

I was but then I heard that the demo had a lot of issues.

Granted, Square did say that they took player feedback from the demo and planned on improvements, but it might end up like another Bravely Default 2 situation.

Turned from a "week one" buy to a "let's wait to see some reviews" buy for me.

See, now this sounds interesting.

Though I suppose it depends on exactly which aspects of Stardew and Final Fantasy you're combining. Because the best elements of both could make for a really cool game, but the worst elements of both could result in something incredibly awful.

I also suppose it depends on which era of Final Fantasy we're talking about. The more enjoyable fantasy of earlier games or the ultra-weeb nonsense of recent titles.

It's more on the Bravely Default side of fantasy rather than the modern fantasy of the newer FFs.

Also it's relatively light on the Life-Sim aspects since, as far as I know, there's no marriage or romance system. There is a "trust" system where you gain ranks in "trust" for npcs as you do sidequests.

That's part of the whole reason people even play games like those.

Yeah, the game really feels like more of an action jrpg, with farming on the side; rather than a full mix of both arpg and farming life sim.

But who knows, this is just based on initial reactions to the demo, and they might have added a romance system for the full game.

Just have to wait and see.

I kind of doubt that. Adding a (not-horrible) romance system is quite an undertaking, well beyond the sort of tweaks or minor content additions that usually follow demo feedback. If it were any other studio, I'd say they were well aware of the fact that people would miss having a romance system and chose to go a different route in spite of that, but this is Squenix we're talking about, and they aren't exactly the best at being aware of things.
