Anyway, "unbiased" on the subject of what?

Just saying "unbiased" as a general catch-all doesn't make any sense. Usually when using the term "unbiased" you pick an issue to have as a reference.

For one to be absolutely unbiased is to be a robot with no sense of ideals and willing to suffer racism, hate, etc.

In that sense, I was going to ask whether TC meant the community here, the site staff, or the website's rules as written, and the answer to all three is of course there is some bias, mostly against shitty people. You can't go through life without developing some kind of bias against the things you don't like to see.

Just being "unbiased" doesn't always mean it's "good".

What would it take, for example, to be "unbiased" on the subject of cannibalism?

it's mostly americans. america is pretty far-right. americans also tend to be pretty far-right, to the extent that some of them mistakenly believe the Democratic Party to be left-wing.

It's not entirely unbiased. I've had a moderator say that every single Republican is a bad person and that voting in ignorance makes you as bad of a person as if you voted in malice.

On the whole though, I think they collectively do a good job. It is difficult to remain "unbiased" when one political party is literally devolving into a white supremacist party. What do you do in that situation? You can't say, "agree to disagree," or opt to respect someone else's views when their views are bigoted or oppressive.

To generalize everyone though is pretty stupid. If ignorance makes you a bad person, there isn't a good person in the world. You know less about the world and the consequences of your actions than you think you do. To someone who doesn't have so much as a college education, it's easy to be misled by propaganda. Every offense from the other party is a sign that they're corrupt. Every offense from your party is an exception to the rule or a lie made up by the opposition.
