Im in a different town tonight so I left a bowl of candy out for the trick r treaters. Some kid approached the bowl and set his bag down and started scooping everything he could out then ran to the neighbors.

He had his friend with him in the road yelling at him asking what he was doing and the kid told him to just hold on a second lol. Surprised he didnt take the bowl too.

Call the cops on them. Little shit.

What do people expect by leaving bowls out unguarded?

This is why you leave out sugar-free candy, that's sweetened with maltitol. Normal moderate candy munchers won't really notice much, but greedy little shits who steal gobs of it will get severe shits very soon.

Honesty. Its kind of the unspoken rule of trick r treating is you take a little and leave the rest for the next person. Its like blaming someone for having their packages stolen because you were at work when it happened. Not very good values being set here.

Ive never heard of a single instance where someone leaves a bowl out and someone doesnt take the whole bowl.

Most will follow the rules, but like 10-20% of all kids will take the bowl. Some its bound to happen. Kids are little shits.

Halloween is a night of mischief. If I don't see smashed pumpkins lining the streets on the way to work tomorrow, we've all failed.

Yeah we tried that this year and same thing. We saw a bunch of houses doing the same and seemed to be doing ok. Its a new neighborhood we moved to so we thought if others were doing it maybe itd be fine. Most are with their parents. But the candy bowl was pretty much empty within 20 minutes. Wont do that again next year.

I did lol. Im not mad about it. My reaction was more like wtf Lmao

Last time I went trick or treating I was like 15 or 16? The trick was using a cardboard box to make such a cheesy disguise only a kid could come up with it.

There was one house that apparently hadn't seen many trick or treaters and bought several big bags of candy so they gave us a few handfuls. Then when we were walking back to our friends place that house flagged us down and emptied the bowl into our bags. We got easily 2-3 lbs just from them.

Full stop if you put out a bowl of candy unattended and expected kids to respect that and take their fair share, you were naive.

I always have someone working the door, but when it gets late I leave the loser candy in the bowl and put it outside for any stragglers, or as a last ditch effort bribe to avoid a trick. Its always interesting to see if its still there in the morning. Its still there now.

Next time get a stealth costume. Like one that makes you look like a piece of furniture and nobody could see you in it. Just keep watching until a kid does this, then pop up and scare the shit out of them.

My housemate put out an "honour system" tray of FULL SIZE BARS and we never got a shithead who took them all. We have such a close-knitt community on our street that they woulda been busted before they made it back to our gate.

I had a Jason costume I thought about doing last year, but instead decided to dress a dummy in the costume instead to sit on a chair next to the candy. I might just be the one sitting down next year now if those same kids think my house is a charity lol.

no, the kid is still at fault.

But a 10 year old doing it doesnt get me as crazy as teens who can drive going up to houses and dumping the bowls into bags.
