Which type of chocolate do you like best?

I would say white chocolate. I really like the sweet flavor in it.

Although, I do like mint more with milk/dark chocolate. I still like it with white chocolate, though.

Europe makes some of the best chocolates. They have really good quality in their chocolates.

Although, I do like American chocolate, too.

It depends a lot on the context and what else is being served or mixed with it, but for straight up eating I prefer dark chocolate, particularly in the 60-70% range.

As a fat guy I've eaten a lot of chocolate.

American chocolate is dog shit.
European chocolate is pretty good.
Canadian chocolate is nearly as good as European but priced like American.

I personally prefer white chocolate inside baked things, like cheesecake. But milk chocolate in it's own. Dark chocolate I've abandoned entirely because dates taste remarkably close to dark chocolate.

And no, brand chocolate is not the same in every country.

milk or dark depending on mood

("real" milk chocolate though, which needs a particular ingredient, cocoa butter IIRC)

unfortunately white and milk chocolate always contain milk, and dark chocolate often contains milk.

if milk wasn't an issue I'd prefer milk chocolate.

White chocolate and cream cheese are an excellent pairing. I made red velvet cupcakes once with white chocolate cream cheese frosting, and they were great. The white chocolate cheesecake recipe I tried turned out a little too sweet for my liking, but with a few tweaks it would also have been amazing.

Cover with raspberry compote to add the counter flavor. It's divine.

unfortunately often for triple the price, and in case of "milk" chocolate it often also has a weird salty flavor.

so many allergen free or vegan alternatives tend to be double the price for half the product.

Yeah. Ive never liked that. I think its because they cant mass produce it like the others. And to keep it free from the other stuff, they have to have their own production lines that also need frequent cleaning

It's mostly just that milk gets used because it's a cheap way to produce the desired effect. Alternatives are more expensive, so dairy-free versions are more expensive.

There are quite a few milk product additives out there that can be added to all sorts of things for their various physical properties, even things that you wouldn't think have any business containing milk. Such additives are also common enough that even if they don't get specifically added to a given product, those products are often manufactured alongside products that do use them and there's enough risk of cross-contamination that an allergy warning is warranted.

Whether those additives are concerning or not is going to depend on the exact reason they're being avoided. For lactose intolerance, you can generally ignore them because it's pretty rare for those isolated components to contain lactose. For moderate vegans, some of them are by-products that would be thrown out if they weren't used like this (similar to gelatin), so there's a case to be made that avoiding them contributes nothing to animal welfare and it's therefore okay to consume those ones. For stricter vegans and those with milk allergies, though, you'll have to avoid them completely.
