Meh, for the most part kids just pick up on what the adults around them say. The "Ewww Joe Biden" thing reminds me of when my brother (who lived with my Republican dad) was little and tried to insult me by calling me Bill Clinton. It comes off insecure. If you're a good parent they would follow your beliefs anyway. You wouldn't have to force it.
