Yeah thats kinda true. If Im sick enough to be calling off, it isnt the kind of sickness thats gone in a day

I had to use all 6 of my sick days at once when i was in the hospital

they understand

they are just paid to not care

Having sick workers is bad for business anyway. You get other people sick and customers/clients

Multiple sick days in a row only count as one absence at my job, but I don't think I've been sick multiple days for years.

I personally don't get sick often and the last couple of times it started on a weekend so I wasn't out more than a day.

I get sick once a year for ~36 hours.

My work gives bonuses for perfect attendance records....

1 year $100
2 years $250
3 years $500
4 years $750
5 years $1000

Gonna hit 5 years in February, never really been sick so have never used sick leave which for some reason would count against your attendance bonus(40 hours a year that rollovers into PTO and another 40hrs sick leave drops in at the beginning of every year)

I'm just glad I get 4 hours of sick leave a pay, and that I get to take two days off before needing a doctor's note. If I still don't feel better after 2 days I just work from home, so I don't infect anyone.

Everyone should have access to a system like that. The US sucks since it's not mandated for everyone.
