Police in Richmond Heights are investigating after a womans car was stolen and her son shot at the suspects.
According to the Richmond Heights Police Department, the incident took place Monday morning in the area of I-64 and Big Bend Boulevard. A womans BMW was stolen in Sunset Hills.
Police said the womans son followed the suspects to Big Bend Boulevard and I-64 and rammed his car into the stolen BMW. He then got out and fired shots at the suspects, striking one of them in the leg.
The injured suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Most of the other suspects were taken into custody after fleeing into a nearby neighborhood. One remains at large.
Investigators said two schools in the area were placed on lockdown but have now resumed normal operations.
No other information has been released at this time.

To be fair, the son could have done a better job at the police. Police would have emptied their guns onto the car thieves killing everyone and maybe some bystanders too.

The son felt the need to send a message and deter them from thinking about coming back. Who can really fault him? Just because somethings are against the law doesn't mean they are completely evil. If the lawmakers and cops didn't skew the law to just give even dangerous criminals a slap on the wrist and put them back on the streets to perpetuate this vicious cycle of fuckery people wouldn't be forced to have to retaliate like this.

They will. Take a look at Cain Velasquez

his son was sexually assaulted multiple times while at day care.

chases the guy in his truck, firing rounds while driving. Doesnt hit the guy, but hits his dad instead.

sexual assaulter is out while Cain rots in prison.

all because of the gun, should have pulled him out of the vehicle and beat him to a pulp.

Crime of passion is definitely a thing and he may not be charged with all the things he actually did. He might get 2nd degree murder instead for example.

I'm a bit conflicted. I don't believe the death penalty should be doled out towards thieves necessarily, but I feel that many sort of downplay the act of theft and how it can affect victims by saying things like "they're just possessions". With how bad things are economically, someone losing valuables, especially a vehicle, can be a crippling blow. It takes money to replace valuables and some things are priceless like heirlooms or other things that mean a lot to a person. The feeling of being robbed also can give you a feeling of being unsafe and even violated, for lack of a better term.

The guy shouldn't have gone and chased the thieves down and fired at them because it endangers others, but I'm not necessarily opposed to someone defending their valuables with force. I especially don't believe that one should just let thieves take whatever they want if they aren't threatening harm to you like how some do. Also, if you're a thief, be prepared to take the ultimate risk.

Isn't theft of a Motor Vehicle literally Grand Theft Auto in America and always a Felony in America?
In the UK TWOC is literally not even an imprisonable offence, merely a summary offence (Obviously depending on the circumstances), if the car was just taken and the owner was not in it at the time.

Meh, property loss is technically true, but is incomplete to the point of being almost disingenuous.

A lot of people rely on their cars to get to and from work, which is of course how they make their living. Not every situation allows for practical or safe commuting if that car is compromised. No car could easily mean no work. No work means no food, no rent paid and so on. Calling it just property is missing the bigger picture. Now whether or not this is true for this specific case, I admit I dont know.

I don't want to speak for that person but I do believe the point of that post was to highlight the son's likely commission of public/reckless endangerment, since there are so many people praising him and condoning his dipshit behavior who seemingly do not understand that or, if they do, don't care. I do not think they're advocating charging him with murder for a hypothetical death.
