...money, again for the rest of your life? Or do you think that you can never have too much money? Have heard others say that.

I would never need any more money than that. Id give money to everybody I know, and then spend the rest of my life wandering the earth helping people in need.

A surprising number of people who win jackpots that large end up blowing it all and spiraling into depression later lol.

It I won that much my first plan of action would be to call an attorney and/or a financial advisor. I would also consider the annuity payment instead of the lump sum. Unless I won it at an older age then I would go with a lump sum but in your 30s there's virtually no reason not to opt for the installments, unless you have some horrible illness and know you only have a few years to live or something like that

At 1.5 billion most financial advisors would say take the lump sum because you could live off the interest alone even after all the taxes taken out

No, i think you're wrong. Almost all financial people tell winners of huge jackpots to take the lump sum. Even if they're in their 20s. Cause, iirc you can just invest that huge lump sum and you make more than with the annuity

Shit no, I'd get rid of most of it. I need like 50 to 100 million dollars to set myself, my extended family, and friends up for life. The rest would go to charities or foundations.

Let's see... a new house (in a HOA so outside of buying the attached unit in our duplex I can't really expand what we have otherwise I'd just do that), replace my PC, stay up to date on game consoles, and buy every Bad Dragon i could ever want. Pay off the debt, and otherwise just... live my life? I'd prolly keep working but only like, a shift a week "for something to do"

Yeah I mean, I can definitely see why a financial expert would recommend the lump sum since you put it that way and I suppose that's technically correct, but I think I'd personally still feel more comfortable with continuous yearly income for 30 years

I'd go the MacKenzie Scott route and actually hire a team to investigate and interview various non-profits across the globe. They do their due-dilligence. I'd also give a good amount to the Episcopalian Church I go to because they preach acceptance and support the LGBTQ community.
