Everybody is funny in it. The situation is suitably wacky. And the ending culminates in my favorite scene in the entire series (not counting the ones from episodes which made me cry, which was several)

If you haven't seen it, Fry decides he's going to spend his $300 tax rebate on 100 cups of coffee, and the entire episode has a counter that routinely appears on the bottom corner to keep track of how many he has had so far. He gets increasingly agitated and jittery as the episode goes, and then just as everybody else's wacky $300 purchases come to a climactic and disastrous conclusion:

He was Quicksilver before those iconic Quicksilver scenes existed.

That's the best pure comedy episode imo but Luck of the Fryish is the best episode story wise.

I kind of count those separately. They're on another level of great television.

Futurama really was special in its glory days.
