I have to annoyingly uninstall damn near every game just to have enough space for God of War when on the PS4, I didn't have to do this stupid "move from storage to console to play" bullshit.

Games designed for the PS5 are reliant on the speeds of the internal ssd, which external drives can't replicate.

So I wasted my money. Just fucking great. The whole point of having these things on consoles was to have access to far more than what it came with!

?

They said this from the beginning. Also same reason why the PS5 doesn't accept PCI-E 3.0 NVMEs

Not enough. The very fact that they even had to say this lets me know most people are buying these thinking they can do what they did on previous consoles.

1.Sell your drive for whatever you can get.

2. Invest recouped moneys to buy SSD NVME with speeds over 5400rpm during Black Friday.

The drive can still install and play ps4 games, which is very nice.

It's been known since before the console even launched that this would be the case.

I think only ps4 games can be played directly over the hard drive, no? that's because they didn't require SSDs since ps4s had HDDs built in.

PS5 assumes it will be played on a gen4 pcie NVME SSD so yeah, even though USB can reach those read write speeds, it just says nah gimme dat NVME. so internal storage or the m2 slot inside.

i guess it could test every hard drive that gets plugged in, but sony said nah go by an nvme.

Guess expanding your internal storage would make too much sense, but sure, keep bitching about easily solved problems.

That's...100% on you, it's not anyone else's issue that you can't be bothered to learn how your console operates.
