I made the switch a few months ago after the Joe Rogan fiasco. I don't regret it considering that they pay artists 2x more, has better bitrates, is cheaper if you do a year sub, and has more or less the same selection.

But damn, playing playlists on a browser (work laptop which I can't install itunes on) sucks. Oftentimes it will just shuffle the first couple albums in a list and also often just start skipping or cutting in and out too.

Tried an alternative called musi.sh and it's not really any better

Only if youre using a non Apple device.

I've had no issues with using it on my android phone

Might actually be worth repurposing an old android device to use as a player

The browser actually works better than the desktop app for some functions

but yeah, I agree its mostly inferior to Spotify in many ways

once i had half my music collection disappear over night because the company that distributes the music to spotify started their own streaming platform and pulled all their music off spotify so people wouldn't use it and instead use theirs.

it came back after a while only because spotifiy agreed to pay them more.

so yeah. fuck streaming music.

Literally just dug up my old Xperia XA 2 Ultra and installed apple music on it.

Now it's actually shuffling stuff properly and not just the first couple albums in a playlist
