Empire is my least fav of the Echoes batch I nominated but it's still good, I particularly like the little bit leading into the loop. I is nice and soothing, if a bit repetitive. I'm not big on the 'poona OST from what I've heard but this is a good one. Shards is inoffensive and the electric guitar keeps it from sounding generic, but the vocals don't particularly hit me. I like the back half though... Tight match. Deserted is a fun ride, I like some parts better than others but it's solid. I really like the 30 seconds in Set Me Free from the minute mark, but the rest isn't to my tastes. --- Very slowly becoming a Final Fantasy aficionado. UF8 11/17/22 7:36:59 PM #6:	I (sun) SMALL TWO OF PIECES ~Broken Shards~ Deserted - Younger Brother and Elder Sister and... darn this first match is going to be tough i can already tell. sun is the kind of simple bgm i get fixated on way too easily and the bold decision to include it appeals to me a lot meanwhile, fe. this is such an underrated theme, has pretty much everything i look for in modern fe music... still, even with that, i think it just needed even more to win me over here, this really was tough though. first match where i had to listen to both a couple of times to decide. also might've gone with labyrinth if that was still the 6 slot song... darn this second match is going to be tough i can already tell (ok not really it's definitely going to be small two of pieces, not that i have any problems with holy wilds, it's great) timeless 8.4/10 (please get in next year) i bet deo has died because of this match <cite>UF8 posted [p:969503435] in [BOST6] Be... MaxGalactica 11/18/22 2:28:26 PM #31:	I (sun) is such a nice song. Love the mallet percussion, piano, and the accompanying synths. I do wish it had more to it compositionally. Lord of a Dead Empire is a less good God-Shattering Star. It's still really good though. This is definitely the most difficult match for me to decide on thus far. Lord of a Dead Empire is compositionally better, but I (sun) has a better soundscape. Holy Wilds is nice, though I've liked other opoona tracks more. And it definitely doesn't stand a chance against one of my favorite vocal VGM there is. Small Two of Pieces is just beautiful, from Joanne Hogg's vocals, to the low whistle (super underrated instrument), to the e-guitar solo, and everything about this song is just :heart:. Super easy vote here. Deserted has some interesting synths in it, though it's not something that really captivated me at any point. Lord of a Dead Empire is compositionally better, but I (sun) has a better soundscape. Holy Wilds is nice, though I've liked other opoona tracks more. And it definitely doesn't stand a chance against one of my favorite vocal VGM there is. Small Two of Pieces is just beautiful, from Joanne Hogg's vocals, to the low whistle (super underrated instrument), to the e-guitar solo, and everything about this song is just :heart:. Dear lord, match 1 is easily one of the easiest decisions I've made in this so far. Lord of a Dead Empire is certainly NOT what I'm looking for when it comes to Fire Emblem music or the use of Latin choir. Holy Wilds definitely has that dreamy ambiance going on, which earns it some points in my book. As for Small Two of Pieces, this is my first time ever hearing it and, man, I'm a little blown away by it. I generally enjoy ballads like Pieces, and this one is definitely right up my alley. I thought this would be an easy vote for Opoona, but I guess Xeno edges it out with its surprise factor.
