It's not from what I've played so far. And these are funny bugs, not game breaking ones like Cyberpunk.

Literall bought it 5 minutes ago.

I don't think it's Cyberpunk bad... I haven't run into even close to the amount of glitches I had with CP2077 at launch... Also couldn't play that game for more than 40 minutes without it crashing where Pokemon's only crashed on me once when leaving an online raid...

The glitches arent really the problem, its the unbelievably bad frame rate, especially in docked mode

The bugs primarily show up when you try and play multiplayer.

It is really glitchy, and looks pretty bad at points. Like, the game literally has no polish outside of the Pokemon models. But it's pretty much all just visuals, and the actual game is really fun.

But it's like they got the game engine running and said "good enough".

GameFreak is far from main Nintendo as far as I'm concerned. GameFreak follows the same format as every other dev: put out an unfinished game, fix it up later as you will make bonko bucks anyways and then you get to have "goodwill" from showing that you're willing to fix up your game, yahoo!

i can live with the bugs, but i seem to be the only one who doesn't like the open world, lack of pacing, and general lack of trainers to battle. you just ride around on your bike lizard, then absolutely stomp the gyms, titans, and team star people that you didn't even realize you overleveled past. i miss routes, trainers, forests, caves, hideouts, etc. the world is empty and victories are unsatisfying because nothing poses even a slight challenge

the worst part is, they don't even give you a suggested order to do things in or show you the recommended level that you should be so you don't absolutely bulldoze past everything

Open world without scaling is pretty bad. Though still having enough fun. My so far path is going one side till it feels to rough and then swap to the other side. Really wish lock on worked better, as they will show level. It just doesnt seem to work half the time I try.

I always seen nintendo fans ripping other fans for buying sports games or CoD games every year saying "60 dollar updates" and stuff as if they havent been playing the same game since the 90s lol

It's definitely a mess of a game but I'm still having fun with it

Mario and Zelda at least have some widely different games between the main series that they don't really compare.

You can make that argument for pokemon and they do try to be different with the pokemon games, but the last few games have all had their issues.

There is scaling (done based on how many gyms/titans/bases you've done already); you just level up so easily in these games since gen 6 that it doesn't matter. You pretty much have to blitz your way to the relevant content if you want it to be difficult. The forced exp share mechanic ever since gen 8 also doesn't help those who are looking for a more challenging experience. Dunno why they keep taking options away from the player (RIP "Set" battle style, apparently)

Also, the lock on felt finicky to me too until I realized it's based on what's in the center of the screen when you hold the button, not whatever your character is looking at. Maybe you already figured that out, but if not, try adjusting based on that and see if it helps you target things.

But yeah, it does feel like it could work better, considering I don't remember targeting feeling weird like that in Legends Arceus.

yep, it's a big bland world, and even the team star "headquarters" are just fenced in areas that only have a couple real battles each. even "gyms" just have you play a dumb minigame outsude and have no puzzles or trainers to get through.

there's really nice QoL changes, battling remains fun, and the tera type gimmick is interesting, but there's nowhere to fucking DO any of it unless i want to get stomped by ubers online in pointless 1v1s. there isn't even a battle tower or anything

What will be more likely is they pull a XIV and have a very comprehensive rework. Brand is very important to TMC/Nintendo and having a game go on a sale like that would harm the image.
