It was takeout and everything. Menu didn't state there was any potential allergens and I'm not allergic to seafood. First thought was peanut oil, but I thought they have to state if peanut oil was used when cooking something.

I have little idea what it could have been. Just had an extremely puffy lip as I'm not deathly allergic to anything as far as I'm aware, thank god. Tummy feels weird, so I hope this doesn't throw my digestive tract out of whack.

Food allergy symptoms can show up later in life, even with stuff you have always eaten. If it happens again with seafood, that might be the case.

Ya, that sucks.
My friend went to an Asian Buffet the other day...and besides never getting my money's worth.
((I eat like a bird))

I am always a little sketched by the amount of finger food and share utensils and w/e ever seafood or peanut oil whatever I might come up against.
I noped out on that, and just chilled while my friend stuff his face.

Do restaurants need to state allergen warnings?

It may depend on the state, but it must be displayed somewhere on the menu about foodborne illness risk and an icon specifying each dish, usually an asterisk.

Yeah, but I eat seafood a lot, so I'm hoping that's not the case. If I couldn't eat shrimp, I would fall into a depression.

I'm leaning towards peanut oil that just wasn't stated, but who knows. At least my allergy isn't too severe.

Understandable. I have to shut off my brain when I got to a buffet in order to not think about that, lol.

I'd try checking with a doctor to get an allergy test thing done to find out exactly what triggered it.

A peanut allergy is a death sentence.

A seafood allergy is just good advice.

For real.
But I guess I didn't really have an appetite at the time anyway.
Some stuff looked good, but I couldn't eat my moneys worth at all.
And then the gamble of what you might be eating.

Hope you're not feeling too bad right now.
That shit sucks. Believe me, I know it well.

If you do have a shellfish allergy, make sure to let your doctors know before you get a CAT scan/MRI with contrast.

The contrast solution makes those with shellfish allergies react badly.
