And put it in the absolute worst area From Software has ever designed

There's pretty much no point to it anyway, since barricade shield is at the start of the game and makes most shields perfectly stable

It's in a place where you have to jump down a bunch of tiny platforms with horrendous collision detection and awkward jumping mechanics that weren't built for precision platforming. At basically the end of the game so there's not much left to even use it for. One misstep and you drop to your death or have to teleport back and start all over.
