Times are desperate. Evil has won. I am scraping away at the mound of coagulated muck we used to call the games industry in search of anything that may prove useful in keeping the evil at bay.
I was planning to go to the store today and be put off by some overpriced games but I ended up not doing it. I had a longer list than this but I struck a bunch off for one reason or another.

-Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines. I consider this one a lot. I like what I see in videos and it seems pretty easy to speak highly of parts of it. There's also holes all over the place, you have to wrestle it to make it function, the end stretch apparently funnels you into one playtime and doesn't offer much variety and there's an underground sewer level nobody likes. I worry this is a game you could enjoy just as much by watching best-ofs on Youtube.
-Pokemon B/W 2. I have been wondering if I got off the Pokemon ride a stop early with BW1 being my last games. X/Y looked very watered down but people speak highly of these, saying there's a lot to do in the game, the big world tournament thing, extra difficulty modes even. There won't be a lot of wonderment or mystery to something I've played as much as Pokemon though. Online is dead outside of Pokemonshowdown and if anything was shut behind Mystery Gift well then that's the end of that. Aside from that, missing these sometimes feels like I watched a whole series then never saw the last episode.
-Xenoblade 1 again followed by Xenoblade 3. I really liked XBC1 but I assume it's some desperation or arrogance talking when I consider going back and bashing my face against it repeatedly in search of more mileage, refusing to accept that it ended in only a few months after searching for something like it for so long. I do not trust XBC3 but people say it's closer to 1 than 2 which is a start and I'm not exactly spoiled for choice so here's me cautiously inching closer to it. It would be great if XBC3 could blindside me and be amazing the same way XBC1 did but that really doesn't seem likely given the 10 year gap. My ongoing efforts to trick myself into wanting a Switch are failing.
-Bloodstained. I don't know what happened. I was really excited for this for a while when it was coming out and then I suddenly lost interest overnight. Maybe it's because the gameplay videos only show really basic stuff and not the infinite-jumping, Crissaegrim abusing, Hydro Storm spamming Alucard/Richter I remember. Other kickstarter/indie games I've played also had this nasty habit of ending as soon as they started. Shovel Knight, Cuphead, Hotline Miami 1/2 were neat for like a week and then that was pretty much it. SOTN always had the lightning in a bottle feel to me too and it's not something I'd imagine is easy to replicate.

VTM:B is a janky game with incredible writing. One of the early levels is a haunted house that is still scary to this day and manages to do tension without being reliant on cheap pop-up jump scares. The build variety actually has tangible impacts on how you handle some situations (like Deus Ex), and having to align with different factions gives it a ton of replay value.

Plus the sewer level is "fixed" in the basically-required fan patch, giving you the option to bypass it entirely.

I'll argue it's definitely worth playing.

I loved Bloodstained, but you seem very hard to please when it comes to gaming TC so I have no idea.

The way you feel about Viewtiful Joe is how I felt about Spiritfarer when I played it, probably haven't had that feeling of satisfaction with a game in 10 years. Maybe look into that, I thought it was a unique gem of a game.

I feel sorry for the earth's population, 'cause so few live in the U.S.A. At least the foreigners can copy our morality, they can visit but they cannot stay.

Bloodstained indeed does certain things better than SotN. It also has some of that OP game breaking stuff in it TC is looking for.

Have you kept up with any of the updates they've been releasing? I 100%ed the game a couple years back and someone told me all the stuff that added like a new area based on Journey(incredible game) and a couple new characters to play as. I'm like damn, I need to reinstall it soon.
