Current Events > Winnie slasher was kinda funny, but I think it's officially cringe now.

Literally, people's only idea to do with these historic characters is to make them slashers. Winnie, Grinch, Bambi, Pan. Now, I hope they flop hard so this trend stops before it starts.

With all the Superman clones going around, I wonder how many Superman horror movies will spawn when he actually does enter public domain (and yes, I'm aware of Brightburn).

I'm 100% behind public domain, I don't think ideas should be owned by people/groups, but at least try to do something unique with this stuff. Imagine if Marvel was like "Hey, we can use Thor as a character!!! Okay, let's just make him a slasher villain, lmao." You can even find ways to make some of these characters realistic villains without having to go full-out horror as I'm sure some of you will point out what a punk Peter Pan is.

Tbf, out of all of them, the Winnie the Pooh one is the one that should work the least on paper.

The Grinch film looks awful, but I can understand the concept; getting revenge against an evil Christmas entity. It's not that far removed from any other Christmas horror films like Krampus.

Peter Pan is dark as fuck as it is, so it's not hard to see how that could be spun into a horror.

And it's not like there aren't horror films about murderous animals already, this will probably just be a revenge horror from the perspective of hunters who are getting killed by a deer.

The problem is that they all seem to be getting picked up by proper small time studios, probably because they have less to lose, but if a bigger more renow3dn studio and writer/director gor behind one if these concepts the film could actually be half decent.
