Background:
Dealer is 10 minutes away (4 mile drive). I bought a $50k RAM 1500 from them in 2019. I placed an order for a $60k Chrysler Pacifica a few months ago.

First Strike:
When scheduling an oil change for my RAM, I found out one of their brand new loaner vehicles was a Pacifica. I asked if I can borrow that for like an hour while I wait for the oil change, so I can feel what the minivan is like. They said no, and I got pissy about it. CE said I was entitled, but I still dont think I am.

Second Strike: (NOW)
The minivan has completely been built and is awaiting ship out. To get the logistics out of the way, I asked about funding methods (e.g., personal check is good enough on the day of the purchase), and I also asked if they can come pick me up at my house so I can drive the minivan back. They said no, they dont do this. I asked do they not have a shuttle, and they said they do have shuttles, but its for service appointments and not for vehicle purchasing.

Seriously, at this point, Im about to walk and just buy the minivan elsewhere and wait another 5 months or whatever. This is ridiculous. Thoughts?

Something to understand is the liability issue, because if they aren't covered and some guy from the dealership picks you up, gets into an accident, you can sue them into oblivion and that's no more dealership if they don't offer that service and their insurance doesn't cover it. I don't think it's a case of "No, i'm just not gonna" but more that they cannot. Just something to consider before your first instinct is that they are just being dickheads.

When my mom was having problems with her car, the dealership paid for an Uber to take her to the rental car place (which they paid the price of the rental, too) and then also paid an Uber to take her from the rental place to the dealership when it was time to pick up her car.

Don't settle for less than that. That was good service.

While you are definitely entitled, 99% of dealers offer way better services when you are spending 60 freaking thousand dollars. Just go elsewhere, that's free market at work.

Im working with another dealer now. They said they already have a vehicle with the exact same configuration that I wanted as an order thats in its final stages, so they can just give me that. ETA for delivery is January 2023. They have a base model in stock theyll let me borrow over an entire weekend if I wanted, and said theyre happy to pick me up in January when the vehicle gets delivered.

Im going to move all my business there, including the maintenance visits for my RAM, even though its an hour way (vs this 10 minutes away one).

Only thing I regret is not being able to give the current dealer all 1s in the new car survey, which hurts them significantly, since I wont be buying from them anymore.

I disagree this is minimal, especially for the amount of money Im giving them, let alone loyalty (maintenance all done at dealer).

The strange thing is they werent like this when I was buying my RAM. I guess this Covid lack of supply thing really got to their heads cant wait to see them back pedal and apologize later. Fuck em.
