Depends on the game, in my opinion. For RTS, I prefer Keyboard and Mouse over any controller.

The Xbox Series controller is GOAT-tier with a lot of really small improvements but its D-Pad and face buttons are deafeningly loud

The DualSense is a huge upgrade over the PS4 controller but is a pain in the ass to get fully working on PCs

The Switch Pro controller is very comfortable and its battery lasts forever, but has a terrible D-Pad and no analog triggers

I like Xbox controllers, however the controller I use the most right now is an 8bitdo Pro 2. I won't buy anymore controllers until controllers with hall effect sensors become more common.

Are you using it on the PC? If so, you have a lot of controller options but most have dealbreakers.

You might as well just get an Xbox Series controller or a DualSense + the DSX app off Steam.
