Wanted to just pop my head in, I remember when this started around like, a decade ago, wild that this is still going, that's dope.

I miss the Golden Era of CE CYOAs, that was a fun time.

You decide a three course meal of an appetizer, entree and dessert, is enough.

For this dinner, you also want to bring out some dishes you haven't served very often to make it special. For that, you go through your catalogue of dishes by category.

You take into account that Aqualad doesn't eat seafood and Beast Boy is vegan. For that purpose, you will bring out the Rainbow Terrine and it's completely vegetable variation. You will just need cabbage, carrots, corn, cauliflower, zucchini, both white and green asparagus, and even okra. There will also be a sauce of egg yolk, thyme, mashed garlic, mayonnaise, virgin olive oil, milk, salt and pepper, and a garnish of cherry tomatoes and a lettuce leaf.

The entree may have to split between the vegetarian and the non-seafood meat. You have the perfect choice for Beast Boy here in Natto Curry Rice. Natto is soybeans fermented in sauce, like the Japanese answer to American baked beans, but known to be much stickier. You can charcoal roast the natto before served with rice and scallions.

For everyone else, you go with "African Ramen." It has chashu style rolled pork shoulder roast inside Muamba chicken soup. The soup is a unique blend of flavors with its chicken broth, garlic, red peppers, onions, tomatoes, chicken drumettes, and peanut butter. It also will have the side dish, "harissa," which is made with chili peppers, paprika, caraway seeds, garlic and lemon juice. In fact, the harissa can be served with the Natto Curry Rice since it is vegetarian.

Dessert is easy enough. An entire batch of Queen's Apple Tarts, decorated on top to look like Damask roses. It'll be a truly sweet finish to a great time together with everyone.

The only other part of the menu would be the drinks. Obviously everyone is allowed whatever they are able to legally drink, but for something special, you'll whip up...

Horchata for a nice taste of Mexico. Just two cups of uncooked rice and some cinnamon sticks ground up together and then just add water. This usually needs refrigeration overnight but the restaurant already has some made for the holiday season. All you'll have to do is strain, season and serve.

You text this menu ahead to the restaurant team for them to prepare ahead of time. Emile replies a moment later.

With that taken care of, you rejoin Raven and the Toddler Titans. They're watching television, but whatever channel they're on is playing commercials.

"So what're we watching?" you ask as you sit down.

"Gremlins," Raven says.

"What?" you say. "Seriously?"

"It's a Christmas movie," she says. "Y'know, in the same way Die Hard counts because it happens during Christmas."

"I suppose that's fair."

The commercial about a type of beer finishes, and the movie returns. It's late at night, and the troublemaking mogwai sabotage Billy Peltzer's clock. He no longer knows what time it is as they ask for more food. He feeds them, violating the rule to not feed them past midnight!

"Oh no!" Teether says.

The mogwai form cocoons around them, and this also happens with Billy's grade school science teacher, Mr. Hanson, as he makes the same mistake! The transformation doesn't take too long, and the mogwai emerge as dark green, almost reptilian monsters! They torment Gizmo, the original mogwai, and attack Billy's mother! Hanson dies at the hands of his gremlin, but Billy and his mother are able to slay theirs, except for Stripe who runs away.

Striple makes it all the way to the town's YMCA, and more importantly, the swimming pool! He dives right in, and all that water helps him spawn an army of evil gremlins!

"Oh no!" Teether says again.

The horde rampages through town, hurting or even killing some of the people, including the mean, widowed old miser, Mrs. Deagle. That's technically poetic justice since she was always hateful of Billy's dog.

Billy brings word of the monsters to the police, but they don't believe him, even after seeing Gizmo is a real-life (good) gremlin. Billy takes it upon himself to at least save his girlfriend, Kate, from the monsters, and they take shelter in the bank. Billy's sure this doesn't help Kate with her hate of Christmas. She confesses that her reason is rather tragic.

When Kate was nine, her father went missing on Christmas Eve and didn't come home on Christmas Day. It wasn't until days later that they found him dead in the chimney, dressed as Santa. It seems he meant to surprise the family, dropping in like Santa, but he slipped and broke his neck while climbing in the chimney. Kate has PTSD because of this, and it was the moment she also learned Santa Claus isn't real.

"Santa isn't real?!" the Toddler Titans blurt out as they turn around to look at you and Raven.

Your eyes widen as you look over at Raven, too.

"Uhh..." she says in a red faced panic.

Raven starts to stammer and nervously laugh, and glances at you in desperation.

"It's... complicated," you say. "There isn't just one Santa. It is a secret society of Santas that keep up the illusion that there is just one Santa. So unfortunately, her father dying in his Santa costume exposed the secret before she was ready."

"Really?" Melvin says.

"Of course," you say. "My great-grandfather was part of the secret Santa society."

"Wow...!" the Toddler Titans say.

"What about your grandfather?" Mevlin asks. "And your father?"

"Wait, they were here for Christmas," Timmy says. "They couldn't be Santa. Or, Santas."

"Well, they've long since retired," you say. "You can only be Santa to a certain age, so that you aren't too old to do all the things Santa does. Now, obviously, as is the case with Kate's father, there are tragedies, and new Santas will need to be recruited."

"Will you be a Santa like they were?" Melvin asks.

"If they'll have me," you say. "There's nowhere to apply to be a Santa, the Santas have to reach out to you."

"Oh..."

Back to the movie, the gremlins have all gathered at the movie theater. Billy and Kate put into action a plan to get rid of them all. They cause a gas explosion that completely burns up the theater and all the gremlins inside! Except for Stripe, he went to the department store to get more candy. But now that means he's all alone. Billy, Kate and Gizmo pursue Stripe, and they know Stripe wants to get to water.

Stripe finds a water fountain, heads for it, and has a clear path with Billy and Kate stuck in one of the aisles. Gizmo risks his own life by opening a skylight to let in the morning sun! Stripe is hit by the light and is destroyed!

As the local news reports on the day's mysterious tragedies, Mr. Wing returns to take back Gizmo. He reprimands both the Peltzers and "Western society" for their carelessness with nature. But as Gizmo says a sad good-bye to Billy, Mr. Wing does see that maybe, one day, Billy may be ready. And until that day, Gizmo will be waiting.

"Yay~," Raven says while she and the Toddlers applaud.

"Lunch time!" Teether says.

"Already?" you say. "Well, I guess the morning is pretty much done."

"Let's have some sandwiches, hm?"

You get up and go to the kitchen. You get the loaf of white bread out, as well as a butter knife.

"Well, I know Timmy had a peanut butter and jelly French toast sandwich for breakfast," you say, "so how about some turkey?"

"Mmm, yeah!" Timmy says.

You bring out the package of sandwich meat, as well as the jar of mayonnaise and bottle of mustard. For you and Raven, you have full sized sandwiches with six slices of turkey each. Melvin gets a full sandwich, but with four slices of turkey. As for Timmy and Teether, you make a sandwich with four slices of turkey then split it in half for them.

"Alright," you say. "Turkey on white bread, untoasted."

Everyone sits at the table to eat, having lemonade to drink and pretzels on the side.

"So what should we do this afternoon?" you ask the group. "We could watch more movies, or whatever is on TV."

"We should play a game," Melvin says.

"Yeah!" Timmy says. "A game, a game!"

"Sure thing," you say.

"How about we go outside for a game? Maybe catch? Or Hot Potato?"

"That sounds fun," Melvin says.

"Hot Potato! Hot Potato!" Teether says.

"Alright, let's play some Hot Potato," you say.

You and Raven lead the way out to the backyard, but you realize you don't have a simple ball for throwing around.

"No problem," you say. "Just a little Arcana..."

You make a perfectly round ball with mana, then use Alchemy on it to turn the energy into rubber.

"There we are," you say as you squish it in your hands. "A nice rubber ball."

"Wait," the Toddlers say. "How do we play Hot Potato?"

"There's many ways to play Hot Potato," you say. "But let's play it this way: everyone has three seconds to pass the ball, just like this. One, two, three."

You throw the ball to Raven.

"And of course, you can throw the ball before three," you say.

"One, two," Raven says, and then she throws the ball back, which you catch. "See? That's easy."

"Now, if you take too long to throw the ball," you say, "or drop the ball on the ground, you're out. We'll play until there's only one person left with the ball."

"That's also easy," Raven adds.

The group spreads out, and even Bobby joins in.

"Everyone ready?" you ask. "Okay. One, two, three!"

You throw the ball to Bobby and he catches it with those big stubby arms. Bobby quickly throws the ball to Melvin, and she quickly throws the ball to you. You throw the ball to Teether, he catches it but stumbles as he works to keep hold. Teether sighs in relief and then hurries to throw the ball to Raven.

Raven catches the ball, throws it to Timmy, and then Timmy zings the ball right at you! You catch it, of course, but you're a bit surprised. You quickly throw the ball back to Raven, and she throws the ball to Teether. Teether again struggles but keeps the ball off the ground.

Teether throws the ball to Bobby, Bobby throws it to Melvin, and Melvin quickly throws it to Timmy. Timmy zings it at Raven! Raven yelps as she fumbles with the ball, and then actually fumbles the ball.

"Raven's out!" Timmy says with a big grin.

Raven sits on the porch and you pick up the ball. You throw it to Teether, who gets a better handle on it, and he throws it to Timmy. Timmy zings it at Bobby! But Bobby is big and soft so he absorbs the throw and catches the ball, to throw it to Melvin.

"Bobby, you can throw it to other people," Melvin tells him.

Melvin throws it back to Bobby, Bobby takes a couple seconds, and he still throws it back to Melvin. Melvin sighs and throws the ball to Teether, and he throws the ball to you. You throw the ball to Melvin, she throws the ball to Timmy, and then Timmy zings it right back at her! Melvin still catches it but she frowns.

"Timmy, be careful," she says.

She says that now that she has to catch his heater...

Melvin throws the ball to Teether, Teether throws the ball to you, and you throw the ball to...

Bobby. He of course passes it to Melvin, who passes it back to you. You throw it to Timmy, and while Timmy doesn't zing it, he definitely throws it fairly hard to Teether. Teether rolls back with the ball to hold onto it!

"Nice one!" Raven says with some applause.

Teether throws the ball to Melvin, Melvin throws the ball to Timmy, and Timmy throws it to Bobby. Bobby passes it to Melvin, who gets a bit annoyed. She passes it to Teether, he quickly passes it to Timmy, and that catches him off guard! Timmy scrambles and drops it!

"Timmy's out!" Teether says.

Timmy pouts and joins Raven on the back porch. She gives him a comforting pat on the head.

Melvin picks up the ball, throws it to you, you throw it to Bobby and he throws it to Melvin. Teether throws it to Bobby, who throws it to Melvin. Teether chuckles as Melvin gets annoyed, but she throws it back to Teether. Teether throws it to you, you throw it to Bobby, and Bobby throws it to Melvin.

Melvin throws it to Teether, Teether throws it to you, you throw it to Bobby, and the ball goes around in circles in the group. You then suddenly change the flow and pass it back to Teether. Teether panics but throws it in the general direction of Melvin, but he misses wide left.

"Teether's out, right?" Melvin asks.

"Yes," you say.

Teether sits with Timmy and Raven, and Raven pats him on the head now.

Melvin fetches the ball and throws it to you. You throw it to Bobby and Bobby throws it to Melvin. The ball does laps around the group again, and it really builds speed.

"Go, go, go!" you say as you speed things up.

You pass to Bobby and Bobby passes to Melvin and Melvin passes to you. Bobby is a bit of a slow point in the cycle, and he ends up holding into it longer than you and Melvin do in total. Bobby tries to keep up, but he falls behind. He starts to panic a bit, and then fumbles the ball.

"Bobby's out!" Teether and Timmy say.

"It's okay, Bobby," Melvin says as the big teddy bear sulks. "You did really good."

Bobby sits with the others and now it's just you and Melvin.

"Alright," you say. "The final showdown."

"I'm ready!" Melvin says with a determined look.

"Go Melvin!" Teether, Timmy and even Raven say.

"Hey," you say to Raven.

"Sorry," Raven shrugs and smirks.

You pick up the ball, and let the tension build.

"Go!" you say as you pass the ball.

Melvin catches and passes back. You count to three, pass, but then Melvin passes it right back. You and Melvin start going back and forth, faster and faster, then Melvin holds onto the ball. You chuckle as you refocus, and then Melvin throws the ball. You catch it, send it back, and things speed up again. You try that same move, and now Melvin chuckles as she doesn't fall for it.

You keep going, back and forth, faster and faster.

"Go, Melvin! Go, Melvin!" the Toddler Titans cheer.

The ball goes back and forth again and again and again, then you hold onto the ball again. Melvin is thrown off, and that's when you throw the ball. Melvin recovers well and catches the ball. She throws the ball back, and you continue to go back and forth.

"GO, MELVIN! GO, MELVIN!" the Toddler Titans cheer even louder.

You and Melvin keep going, and then you switch hands! That pause throws Melvin off again, and as you throw with your left, she has to adjust, but she can't and drops the ball.

"Boooo!" the Toddler Titans say.

You frown for just a moment.

"Well played, Rorek," Melvin says.

She offers a handshake and you take it.

"You did very well yourself, Melvin," you say. "Great thinking on the fly, and you had good reaction time. You're only going to get better, and truly become a great hero."

Melvin smiles and you both join the others at the porch. The group goes back inside, and you all wash up before getting ready to leave.
