Not really looking to subscribe to any services or obtain cable/streaming equivalents. I used to watch it in the early 2000s but it was basically out of lack of choices for entertainment I guess.

Because it sucks. Wrestling lost the plot a long time ago. They slap you in the face with how fake is both in ring and out and you can't really suspend your disbelief anymore.

It's a bad thing when they try and also act like a sport. Either go full cartoon or pretend it's real, don't show me a bunch of flippy bullshit that would be impossible if your opponent wasn't helping you do it and tell me the belt matters.

They liked it more when it was presented more as a sport and relatively "real". Now a good chunk of seems like a cooperative gymnastics exhibition with really silly stories and antics. Just not a lot of peoples' thing.

I lost interest in wrestling after The Rock left. The Rock and The Undertaker were my all-time favorites, and by that time, The Undertaker didn't appear often enough to hold my interest.

I used to be a big fan and watched for like 20 years. I have not seen a single wrestling show this year. WWE put me off. The things I all liked seem to be gone, fun larger than life characters all seem to have been replaced with "black trunks no shirt wrestleman" no one seems to have a character beyond "good wrestler" . there doesnt seem to be any stories beyond "you have title me want"

then there is other things, the entrance music all is generic and terrible, the shows are far too long, the shows all look the same.

there is just no appealing aspects any more

I do watch. I watch AEW Dynamite weekly, although it's been faltering significantly. WWE has gotten better than AEW, and I started watching the PPVs again, but I still can't bring myself to watch Raw and Smackdown because that's 5 damn hours.

How you going to sit there one week and tell everybody not to mention the incident and come out the following week and do the exact opposite. CM Punk was right. "I'm old. I almost feel like there is just too much wrestling out there now. I still try to follow storylines in the WWE and AEW to a lesser extent, but I am not always tuning into the shows. I knew Kurt Angle was on Smackdown today and I easily could have put it on (and I was feeling good) but I was just focusing on a game I just bought instead. If this was the Attitude era-ish time I couldn't get enough of all of that but now there are just so many distractions and I do have to be in the right mindset for it at times too now. If I am angry or depressed I don't want to watch a wrestling show.

It's not so much the CM Punk drama why AEW has gotten worse. The booking is just shit. They come up with really good title builds, then they don't really do anything with their champions once they win it. And the roster is so bloated, and they'll have someone have a great match and have some momentum, and you never see them again for months.

Because if you don't have cable, wrestling isn't actually very accessible. And really, like who has cable anymore?

Not having cable, my options are pretty much NWA (which is terrible), MLW (which is on the annoying Fite TV) and Impact (which is behind a YouTube paywall).

That said, I do watch Impact, its regularly better than WWE and AEW, and nobody gives it the respect it deserves.

I was still following AEW a lot closer when Hangman Page finally won the main title man that was a long build to that (I felt like too long at one time) and it was incredible when he did. I guess they didn't do a whole lot with him as the champion. I feel like this is probably unfair because I know once you finally climb the mountain sometimes it may not be much else to do but a good face champion who isn't treated like a doofus is enjoyable to watch.

I also feel like CM Punk got this great hero's welcome to AEW (I watched that on Rampage lol) and then he got upset because Hangman Page made one comment that no one noticed until CM Punk brought it up much later as it just kept festering inside him apparently until well his press conference after he won the belt and how everything blew up with him and the Elite.
