It took them years to admit the Bed of Chaos was utter shit.

Not sure if now Elden Ring is out they're allowed to admit Shrine of Amana sucks yet or do we need to wait a while longer?

I never played it after the patch. But I was a melee build and it was awful when I played it. I really should replay DS2 though.

I just said they're less memorable

I struggle to name 5 bosses from those games off the top of my head

DS1 and 2 has Orestein and Smough, Asylum Demon, Scorpion Najka, Great Greylord Sith, the last giant, mirror Knight, Bed if Chaos, Seath the scale less, pinwheel, Gravelord Neato, Orestein again for some reason , Gwyn, the chariot, flexible sentry, old iron king, ceaseless discharge, covetous demon

Anor Londo, Shrine of Amana, Sens fortress etc

I could go on

like them or not they're memorable

There is some weird as recent movement to try and paint DS2 as underrated, unfairly maligned, etc. It was shit compared to the other games and relied on experimental mechanics you either loved or hated as its standout features. Even the act of running, walking and turning was fucked up as demonstrated by thousand of Youtube videos. People these days are just so up their ass that they have to be contrarions without a cause on every single topic.

The whole series is better off if DS2 just did not exist at all.

ds2 introduced one of the best mechanics to the series, powerstancing

I only played through Dark Souls 2 when it first came out, and while I didn't have too much issue with the Shrine of Amana, enemy projectiles homing in on you was really lame, IMO.
