All I want for Christmas is a reasonably priced burger

Not really. For real restaurants I still barely ever go and for fast food its more or less the same amount.

It's maybe pushed me a bit towards cheaper restaurants, but I don't think it's changed the frequency

I probably get fast food and/or takeout less often. It wasn't a frequent occurrence to begin with but if I had to guess it's probably slightly less than before. I never really went to sit-down restaurants to begin with, so that hasn't changed.

This also has a lot to do with living in a small town and not really having a lot of options. It's either eat at the small handful of places here or a two hour trip.

It hasn't really changed yet but I can see me getting less take-out in the near future if the inflation keeps going up.

Not really - the shortage of workers did, as service was slow and poor. Quality went down. I still have gift cards from last Christmas.

Speaking of reasonably priced burgers, Wendys at least here, still has the 4 for 4 and Biggie Bag deals. Easily the best deals around in the burger world if theyre available to you!

No but Covid has. Haven't really gotten back in the habit of doing it often even though by now I'd be semi-comfortable-ish

I'm really looking forward to hitting some american restaurants when I get back. Subway, Chipotle, Taco Bell? didn't even eat them that often back in the day but after years without a sub or a burrito it's all I want!

I refuse to tip because I hate tipping culture, but I'm also not a goblin that's going to stiff someone so I just don't go out to eat (or get delivery).

This is a big part of it, lower quality, but also getting those final checks is pretty brutal.

The grocery store bill is also brutal but way more justifiable.

Groceries are getting pushed up at more alarming rates than most of the prices at restaurants I go to, funny enough. We've been eating $3 for two slices of pizza + large drink at our local Racetrac pretty often because its just pretty impossible to beat "actually full and caffeinated" for 3 bucks a person.

No, still eat out once per week.

I will say that I eat out at slightly nicer places now because the gap between the bottom and those places has decreased significantly.

I do it less because I'm smarter and less lazy about my food than I was a decade ago.

Oh god the lack of staff is definitely noticeable though. It takes like an hour at our local Taco Bell to get food even if theres only 3 people ahead of you

Some restaurants have been hit more than others, like Chipotle or even worse, Sonic. Google "Sonic inflation" for more details.

I tried not to eat out before COVID, and that hasn't really changed. If you include fast food, quick grab-and-go stuff, lunch-on-the-way and everything else, I eat a meal outside the house maybe three times a month.
