I got a friend or two who will want to exchange gifts, and they kind of ferret out how much they wanna spend. And I'm just thinking to myself, "bitch, if you wanna spend $100 in trade of gifts, why don't we just keep the hundred and leave it at that...?" I have way too many friends to buy stuff for. Now if I am with them around the holidays or at their birthday, I will buy them a drink or something. But buying gifts just causes stress with everyone feeling they have to return the favor. I buy stuff for my kids, my fiance and my parents. And to be fair, I often wish I just had a few really close friends I see on a regular basis. Because of how my life blew up after my divorce, I got involved with a couple very large social circles, and now that is also merged with my fiance's friends, and it is almost unmanageable. I feel like I am letting all my friends down by having to juggle when I actually have time to see them. Plus, I have my kids a third of the time.
