I really love Ripsaw Rage and Krack Shot Croc, but my favorite of all time is in Tropical Freeze, Grassland Groove. That level TRANSCENDED me.

I always liked the go cart level in DK2

I think the aesthetics of the retro games is so much worse it's hard to get attached.

Love the level design but it doesn't spark that extra wonder.

Hot Head Hop or whatever the one with the spider in the lava

Toxic Tower is also absolutely iconic, spent forever trying to beat that with my bros

Animal Antics is the most iconic for me, but probably just because how long it took me to finally beat as a kid and I'm not sure I'd say it's my favorite.

Favorite all-time is probably High-Tide Ride from Tropical Freeze. That's the level that transcended me! For some reason I didn't appreciate Grassland Grove that much my first time through, but on my recent replay it blew me away too.

Topic actually inspired me to play and beat 2 in a week

Lost World is worth it if only for the K. Rool rematch

Rickety Race

love knocking dudes out on the track, and Disco Train is an underrated jam

Lost World has some of the best levels in the game imo and just the secrets are hidden so well in the base game, it's worth doing to me! That said, I actually think the final boss is the most disappointing thing about it (it's easier than the original fight).

Glad to see newfound respect for such a classic. It's probably similar to how I felt when I played FF6 for the first time a few years back.

Absolutely agree with this. Love Rickety Race, especially when you hit the speed boost and just ZOOOOOM through the stage.

I love how it's perceived as such a difficult level, but all of that difficulty is concentrated only the first third of the level. Once you get to the Squacks section, you just trivially fly over the rising waste.

I love Blizzard Barrel Blast from DKC1 just because of that Nintendo Power DKC1 video and the challenge of trying to traverse the level perfectly using just barrels to get the balloon at the end
